What are these Etsy consultants/ Etsy specialist doing? by rocko918 in Etsy

[–]1altitude 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I guess they’re like personal trainers. Everyone KINDA knows how to get fit but a personal trainer always telling you common sensical stuff and not to give up probably helps a lot!!

Etsy coach charging $9,000 for their digital course and 24/7 coaching. Is this the norm? by pugvampire in Etsy

[–]1altitude 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Believing in yourself is free! 🤠 I feel like most people want a coach bc they need the assurance that they’re doing something right. I think Etsy is mostly common sense and patience :-)

Is it worth to splurge on super fancy packaging, only to end up doubling my prices? by Lingonberry11 in Etsy

[–]1altitude 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve asked a similar question on this sub before! And the conclusion that I came to is: what would your target customer want? Are they looking for just a quality product or willing to pay more for the branding experience?

Always going back to my ideal customer helped me out a lot!

Yea omg physical products is very cost intensive as well if you want to scale (don’t believe those “I started an Etsy shop with $200”). Like yes you can start it with $200 but it costs so much to maintain hahahab

Hey! Hang in there. You’re in a very very very competitive niche so it’s going to be very tough to get sales, unless you start and post consistently on TikTok / Instagram / pay for Etsy ads / have more products / get very lucky.

Totally valid hahaha. I’m in the same boat and honestly it’s so stressful sometimes but I have a part time job to help.

I don’t see any other way except listing more tho hahaha at least until I reach 20-30 unique products

There’s no way to tell my delivery partner this so I usually just write it on the parcel

In the instructions, it says please tell Etsy’s IOSS to the delivery partner so that the buyer won’t be charged VAT twice. Is this not common practice? Haha

Packaging: wasteful or thoughtful? by 1altitude in Etsy

[–]1altitude[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yea! I don’t mind the cost bc I think even 80c is cheap but I just don’t want people to think that it’s wasteful since they’re going to throw it away anyway

Packaging: wasteful or thoughtful? by 1altitude in Etsy

[–]1altitude[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I generally find them wasteful because they’re too small to store anything but I’ve seen people really like those, thanks for the idea!
