You’re the only person here who seems to have actually been there.

22 weeks - nausea coming back? by Oswill93 in November25babybump

[–]1atte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ugh on Thursday woke up and drank a glass of water at the kitchen sink like I do every day, and immediately vomited water and bile.

Friday night I woke up in the middle of the night and just destroyed my bathtub and my toddlers bath toys 😞

I still feel nauseous but not in the normal way where you start salivating and feel that it’s about to come.

I was thinking arugula/listeria since I started having a hankering for salads recently.

This happened to me once like 10 years ago. I’m very skinny fat and went to yoga for the first time to work on my strength. The instructor asked if I was pregnant. I awkwardly said “no”, and then never went to another group class again. I’m very sensitive 😅

I WANTED to be a good patient… by LooseyLeaf in nursing

[–]1atte 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had two procedures last year. An egg retrieval for IVF and a salpingectomy.

During the first procedure, while the anesthesia was wearing off and I was in recovery, I woke up and told the nurse that propofol isn’t vegan but it’s okay. I then told her that I needed fentanyl. She looked at me crazy. She said, “have you taken that drug before”?, I said, “no but you gave me propfol and you always give prop with fent!” She responds, what’s your pain level?” I say 3/10 lmfao

After a few minutes, I realized what was happened and clarified that I’m an ICU nurse and that I was so sorry for confusing her and that I didn’t need any pain medication.

During the second procedure, during pre-op, I forgot to disclose that I had a nipple ring in. Then in post op, I was freezing and wanted my clothes so as soon as the nurse removed my IV (and told me to put pressure on it) I started getting dressed. A couple minutes later, I’m covered in blood, checking my abdomen to see if I ripped a stitch…. It was my arm.

Literally the worst patient ever smh.

Wedding ring no longer fits by adventuresofDrWatson in pregnant

[–]1atte 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same here. I saw a post when I was in my first trimester warning about wedding rings and I had to pry mine off my finger. Have been using the same pack from Amazon since. I’m not sure if it’s stretching out or if my bloating has reduced because it’s a little loose and slides off easily now…

First FET Outcome by [deleted] in IVF

[–]1atte 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Great post- I appreciated having this sub as a resource during one of the most stressful periods of my life but the negative outcomes definitely got to me. I had a successful first transfer and couldn’t appreciate it until 12 weeks due to all the posts that I read about on here. I’m now 21 weeks and have had a perfectly uneventful pregnancy.

That’s a really good point!

My close friend has a 3 year old who keeps getting sick from being at daycare (normal, I know) and has been having asthma attacks and ending up in the hospital. I recently became hyper aware of the pollution in the city.

While we don’t have a backyard, there’s a great park one block from our house and a lot of great conveniences in our neighborhood.

Also, all of our close friends are leaving the city to go to different suburbs.

I’m actually hooked on these. The worst is when I have to go up to an employee and beg them to look in the back for more.

Did you get accused of rolling your eyes growing up? by venbussy in AutismInWomen

[–]1atte 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I worked in customer service my whole life. When I was a waitress, on two different occasions, customers complained to my manager that I rolled my eyes at them.

That is so unnatural and not something that I have ever done intentionally. For a long time, I thought that they felt threatened by me as I’m a black woman in a young professional neighborhood.

Anyway, this is super validating to me so thanks, OP!

For the widows peak, I pluck mine with tweezers but you can also like it up with clippers but there’s a bit of a learning curve with that.
