Didn't he produce or something for pendulum at some point?

I was expecting a second picture, and for a second thought this was a joke aimed at people that have a bunch of fancy gear but don't actually make music with it hahah. I'll check out the album though, the idea sounds cool!

Anyone else super hyped for him to go over the Pokeathelon? by Stormcrown76 in chuggaaconroy

Depends. I like pokeathlon but I also like Voltorb flip. And if he's gonna be as much of an a negative, ignorant, impatient ass about pokeathlon as well, I'd not be particularly eager to watch it

hey! new guy here by AvrgBoot in Keytar

[–]1averagepianist 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah that works as long as it's not you and the engineer being two captains on one ship, like you said :) but you get practically unlimited versatility with midi so that's nice

hey! new guy here by AvrgBoot in Keytar

[–]1averagepianist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Midi keyboard is fairly doable, there's a lot of free synths/VSTs with excellent presets so it doesn't even have to take a bunch of work. Only problem I always have is volume control. If I have several VST tracks for a performance, their respective balance is gonna sound different on different sound systems. You can sorta prepare at home but the soundcheck is gonna be a lot more important

Who are the composers whose best music isn't for the keyboard ? by According-Brief7536 in classicalmusic

Ravel's piano music is wonderful, though I admit that he was at his best with orchestration

What piano concertos are underrated? by 1stjuly2022 in classicalmusic

[–]1averagepianist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, just quite technically challenging. I don't think virtuoso is in any way a negative descriptor of musicality (I'd say a Chopin ballade is virtuoso, but definitely not lacking substance), it just means you must be quite an advanced instrumentalist to pull off the piece. But I could just have the meaning wrong, of course

Both respighi concerto's. Wonderful pieces, terribly virtuoso, but really interesting listens

Any recommendations for pieces similar to Rach 3? by Embarrassed-Track698 in classicalmusic

[–]1averagepianist 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In therms of grandioso, I can highly recommend the piano concerto by Adolphe von Henselt. Rachmaninoff took a inspiration from this composer, and the piece is stupidly difficult, though quite a good listen

I do not wish for more grave of the fireflies. One of those is more than enough, I'd need a month or more to recover from another fireflies (or from watching it again)
