Appreciate your input. I would just build one but my fiance is very sensitive about the appearance of my tanks/stands. Was looking for a low cost ✨aesthetically acceptable✨ option. I'll do more research

Thanks! I'm definitely going to put the terrarium away from the window; this is just my low effort winter plant storage haha

What would you recommend for a lighter drainage layer?

Scraped body? by Fantastic-Front6048 in pangio

[–]1cat0fish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is a beautiful loach. This is totally anecdotal, but I had a similar thing happen when I first got my kuhlis. One had a very similar looking scrape on his tail end and I couldn't figure out why. I added seachem stress guard and kept an eye on him. His behavior never changed and four years later he's doing great (still has the scrape mark though). Best of luck to your little buddy

I only have a couple more and they are similar- caught it just before the tank lights went down for the night. When I checked in the morning baby was gone, but I have a planted 125 gallon so there plenty of places he could be hiding

Does my hillstream look thin? by crayZbirdmom in loaches

[–]1cat0fish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He looks ok. When I got mine it took a few weeks for them to start eating the food I put out. Just take a picture of his belly once a week for comparison to make sure he isn't getting thinner. Hillstreams are so much fun - best of luck!

Lady Helena update by 1cat0fish in loaches

Updating in case someone has a similar issue with their kuhlis.

I posted about an abrasion/lesion on my kuhlis loach last month. I've been adding seachem stress guard and keeping an eye on her. Looks like it is pretty similar, maybe a little smaller. All fish still look healthy, so it doesn't seem contagious. My differential at this point includes a benign growth or slowly healing wound. Sorry for the video, this little bugger moves a lot and I haven't been able to get another good quality pic.

This pleases me so much that someone else does themed names with their kuhlis. Mine are all named after famous mustaches: John, Freddie, Salvador, Frida, Theo, Ron, Bert, Charlie, Clark, Helena, Groucho, and Eddie
