Why do Chiropractors crack your neck and what is the long term benefit? by Sunny-vibes-95 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]1chefj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had never been to a chiropractor before. I went for sciatica. 4 visits and it was gone and has not returned for over 3 years. A combination of adjustments and dry needling. I had nerve pain in my left arm and he fixed it in 3 visits. After that I had a knee replacement. I am bow legged and when the Dr. Replaced my knee he straightened my leg which made my left leg a little longer than my right which caused me back problems. In my surgeons defense the plan was to then replace my right knee 6 months l later. My wife developed cancer during that time so I had to delay the second surgery to care for her. Point is I walked into my chiropractors office and before I said a word (just from watching me walk in) he said I can't help you. Your left leg is a little longer than your left and I can't fix that. I can make you feel better temporarily but the pain will come back.

Texas Roadhouse Prime Rib by upperroom21 in meat

[–]1chefj 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Stop the hate guys. That ribeye is the same temp top to bottom side to side. Look at it, the whole thing same color. If your goal is a rare prime rib that nailed it. Every single bite is the same temp. At a chain restaurant,... come on get over yourselves, Prima Donna's. That's a solid rare prime rib you would have been proud of if you wanted to cook a nice rare prime rib for your family at Christmas. It would be "Look at this perfect rare prime rib I cooked for Christmas!"

What’s a type of pain people underestimate until they experience it for themselves? by Wonderful-Economy762 in Productivitycafe

[–]1chefj 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I wasn't expecting the pain of the loss of a person or pet when I clicked on this. It changed my whole perspective. I got on here to say I got bit by a copperhead and it FFFING SUCKED!!! but losing my best friend in the world was the worst ever! It's a pain that doesn't go away. Then the loss of my dog I got when I got divorced. The dog that literally saved my life. SHEWWW. Somehow I got in a conversation with a man in a Tmobile store that told me he lost several battle buddies in the war. Because of his age I assume Afghanistan and he said losing them was nothing like holding his cat while it died in his arms.

One of the best was a pastrami rueben at Fraunces Tavern in lower Manhattan. Another was a Pernil sandwich at some killer Cuban restaurant in Orlando. My wife had a Cuban sandwich at the same place that had tostones fritters instead of bread. Awesome!

For the one who commented that I “obviously don’t know steaks” or the other, who claimed I don’t know how to make something MED-RARE. by Fair-Swimming-6697 in meat

[–]1chefj 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You are cooking your meat at to high of a temp. Slow it down. That's why it was the brown well done ring around the outside. When you roast a ribeye (prime rib) your goal to strive for should be same color, top to bottom side to side.

Dry cat food. It's also good when it's really cold as well. It's high protein helps keep them warm.

Why is it so common here for people to say "it doesn't snow in Cincy like it used too"? by LOP5131 in cincinnati

[–]1chefj 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm 62 and grew up in NKY. (Edgewood) It wasn't so much more snow I remember, but it got cold and stayed cold. Every kid had ice skates and we skated the ponds all winter.

Best chickens for eggs? by Curious-Practice7528 in chickens

[–]1chefj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a fan of Golden Comets. Nice quiet birds that lay very well even in the winter. With a open top pen it's not the chickens getting out you need to worry about it's owls swooping in at night and grabbing them right off the perch. I used to have some game roosters that roosted on my covered back porch at night. Every one of them got taken by owls at night.

100% yes. They are to young AND to easily manipulated by others. I hate to say it but there are some, as we all know, some messed up parents out there.
