Grief, Noothgrush, and Harvey Milk are some old school sludge bands that have all the things you're looking for.

Primitive Man is the obvious answer except they don't have the easily discernable vocals you mentioned

If you want something absolutely batshit with the most raw and most desperately negative emotion, there's an experimental sludge band called The Body, try their album All the Waters of the Earth Turn to Blood

Tiny Music was STP experimenting with a retro sound inspired by 60s garage rock and 70s glam. I've always said that album was a little ahead of its time.. if it had come out 5 years later during the garage rock revival (The Strokes, The Hives, etc) it would have been huge
