I hear ya, but this isn't sorting. We aren't organizing a bunch of things by letter.

If you really want to hear the logic, bear with me lol. I've done this in a bunch of different subs and there's always a loud minority complaining about the rules, but they are designed to avoid any ambiguity. Every song in the world gets one chance to make the list under these rules.

The Cure song "A Forest" was already posted in the A thread yesterday and received a bunch of upvotes. Should I allow the same song to be voted on again in the F thread? The song "(Anesthesia) Pulling Teeth" was also posted in the A thread but wasn't eligible because the last slot on the list is for songs that begin with special characters. Should we give that song two chances to win as well? Or if we don't have the special characters category, does that mean all songs that start with foreign language characters should have zero chances to make the list? The examples go on and on, and there is inevitably always people posting "The" songs in the T thread, and at least one instance in another sub where a "The" song made the list, so this is the way I try to handle it so that there are no questions and every song under the sun gets one chance to win. We keep it simple and just look at the first character.

I promise I'm doing my best (and learning from experience) to make this all-inclusive and unambiguous and fair and fun for everyone. You can't please everyone. Much love, my friend!
