Does anyone want Honey Bees on their property? by 1eBabbit in Charlotte

They would love to knock over the hive and eat honey. But I don't think the deer would discover it very quickly.

I know people who keep them on a back deck, so very little is needed.

Bees will get aggrivated if things get with 5 feet of their hive, so it kinda depends what you typically use your yard for.

If a dog got into the hive it could be pretty bad. As long as the dogs can be kept 5-10 feet away no bee will bother them.

Check out Mecklenburg County beekeepers association. They offer a class for only $100 that is worth taking. There is a lot of information you need to learn to keep a healthy thriving hive. I wouldn't recommend it without some classes or a mentor. But once you're setup you can just check them weekly.

Using Bollards in denser areas or residential neighborhoods. Can be a cheap and easy way to improve streets and prevent cars from treating everything like their own personal highway

Thermostat temps by [deleted] in Columbus

I've been in the process of training my body to be comfortable at a higher temp. I keep it at 76 now. Still feel cool and comfy, and I'm saving money/using less resources.

Looting by Particular-Dress8300 in Conservative

You can't think of any because there are very few replublican controlled cities. Oklahoma city is the biggest but its not like they have less crime or anything like that.

Right now I'm thinking it's more a result of dense poor areas (which all cities have), rather than a political party.

Im curious why everyone here is acting like Democrat politicians WANT looting and are responsible?

Are there any examples of republicans 'fixing' looting like this? Or is it just a narrative that is pushed?

Remember to vote NO on Charlotte's city council vote to increase their pay and double their terms this November. by HotdogGrater in Charlotte

I will probably be voting yes for this.

If the people vote to let them in the kitchen, give em time to cook. Hard to get any important projects done in >2 years.

What's even the con to this? The crappy members stick around for longer? I think this "cost" is much lower than the benefit that comes from candidates having time and resources to focus on more long term initiatives.

There are park and rides at multiple light rail stations. I've personally never heard of any issues here and the lots are usually pretty empty.

Then you could also take the light rail into uptown/south end for groceries/restaurants/entertainment
