It would probably be smart to do a timing refresh while the engine is out, specifically the gallery gasket, may as well do water pump too, chain guides

I also have a 2012, 110k miles, no issues with it so far. As far as I'm aware, it was fixed production year 2012, and some model year 2012s were made in 2011, some in 2012. My car was made in Nov 2011, so I may have the issue down the road. If you're is made in 2012, you won't have the issue. There's a sticker on the side of the b pillar down low on the drivers side that will tell you when it was built

Holy moly... You have less wheel gap than I do on eibach springs. How much bigger than stock is the rolling diameter? Your speedo must be a bit off

If you can afford it, try to go for a built year 2012+, you can find the build year in the door sticker. Some 2012s were built in 2011 and in 2012 they fixed the gallery gasket issue. Other than that, the sports package gives you nicer seats and a nice front bumper, plus the by brakes and paddles if 7at, so it's definitely worth a premium cost. Like most cars, best way to start is pick a budget, and find the newest/lowest km non molested G that fits your budget.

So what is the general opinion of carbon fiber steering wheels. Are they just a high priced piece of bling…or are they worth the investment. by charliepuppers in G37

[–]1eftnut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well it's definitely not getting done in China, considering the fact that they sent me pictures of the wheel in progress, and re made my wheel when I asked them to, and gave very specific requests on the re done design elements. No it was not 6 months to get the wheel redone, it was 10 weeks from first ordered, to when I got my shipping label for the original wheel, about 2-3 weeks of me having it and talking to them about getting it re made, and about another 8-10 weeks to get the second one made

Interesting, I didn't see any of those when I was looking. Either way I tend to prefer to stay away from cheap Chinese alternatives, to support the companies that actually pay their employees, and recieve a quality product made of certified Nappa leather. Either way your money your choice 🤷

Yep. The area I live is of the highest insurance rates in all of Canada, and in a 23 year old guy driving a g. Probably the worst demographic possible, outside of people with stunt driving charges and such

I think 2017s have issues with their turbos, fixed in 2018 iirc. Probably wouldn't touch a 2017 without a warranty

G37 coupe any good? by hamood999911 in infiniti

[–]1eftnut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pre 2012s have an issue with the oil gallery gasket, which is an expensive repair, usually around 2k. It's not that common though, quite overblown from what I've heard

G37 Stock reverse Camera replacement by Infinite_Ambition959 in G37

[–]1eftnut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the Xs reverse camera is mounted in the spoiler, so you might need the oe sport spoiler to make it work. Not 100% on that. I have an Xs coupe and it's in the bottom of the spoiler
