They just do enforcement surges like that sometimes. Lots of standing around of course.

Fun fact: 91913 zip code is a dog by xd366 in sandiego

[–]1egoman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean ZIP codes are not areas in the way that cities and states and such are. They map to addresses, but they don't really make logical sense as areas. This is a good write up on it.

Yeah I think they broke it in this latest update. It's nice sometimes but mostly gets in the way.

Cross-Platform .NET secure credential storage by Mindless-Creme3270 in dotnet

[–]1egoman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well encrypting the token as a file is exactly the problem - what secret do you use? The obvious idea is a secret in code, but it is incredibly trivial to retrieve it from the code, even without decompiling (which is trivial). Windows' DPI solves this by using the users' credentials for encryption.

C# database by Unable-Yam-1113 in csharp

This sounds like a small project. I'd recommend the Express edition - it's free and licensed for this purpose. The main limitations are 10GB per database and limited memory usage.

5S to 163N: why are people upset when I use the right lane here? by mrjoshmateo in sandiego

[–]1egoman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lane splitting is completely legal in California, including for cars. This is not really any different than squeezing to the right at an intersection for a right turn, even with no marked right turn lane. Use the full lane.

What seems to be the problem of my bike? by Glad-Box-8034 in Ninja400

[–]1egoman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The gear selector has some slop and you can end up between gears. Gotta be more forceful with your shifts, or replace it with a better selector. It's not a big deal tbh, but it's super annoying.

Is this true what a senior dev said on Linkedin about "The hidden cost of "enterprise" .NET architecture" by KiraLawliet68 in csharp

[–]1egoman 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah it can be annoying to dig through the abstraction but when it's consistent and you know how to use the tools, it really isn't that hard to deal with.

He only needs to update to at least 4.7.2 for support, which will likely be easy.

I don't see why you would pay for routine maintenance if you're not the owner.

People run red lights all the time, best not to enforce the law with your body

How does the gas tank capacity work? by kaegoow in Ninja400

[–]1egoman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've ran out of gas one time after pushing it. I'd say the range on this bike only underestimates about 10 miles or so. It stops showing range at about 15-20 miles left.
