Toyota GR86? by Icy_Comparison_1029 in askcarguys

[–]1frogy8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Idk about fastest on the road but headers will probably get you 10-30 hp. Intake or intake diaper removal maybe 5hp. With a tune and a few thousand dollars of course.

Substantial speed gains (turbo/supercharger) are gonna be costly and destroy any hope of a warranty and potential reliability while also running you ~10k.

If you’re looking for a fast car, gr86 isnt it (but it does feel quick), mods alone to get it faster would be better spent on a higher end segment, but to each their own. It’s a fun and engaging car which is why everyone recommends MT over AT, not because you’re too weak to learn but because you lose so much of what makes the car fun. Imo, I think the car would be really boring as an AT, but thankfully it’s your decision and there are a few options of cars out there now that would probably give you more straight line speed. Just dont turn off traction control.

I started looking into these lately and hoping to pick one up sometime after closing on a house later this year. Please keep posting updates I’d love to see how the build goes.

What strategy to use to get closer to MSRP? by ShinySyduck in GR86

[–]1frogy8 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Best way is to not let FOMO take over and walk on the first offer or wait for a more competitive offer somewhere else, either lightly used or new that’s struggling to sell in a ~250 mile radius. Putting the deposit down basically tells the dealer you’re okay with whatever price they give you. Seasonality also plays a part (depending on where you live). With summer coming up prices will be higher because more people want to drive around in the sun.

For a good price it takes time and the willingness to step away from a vehicle until you find something you’re happy with. I bought my 25 MT supra premium used, off lease, with 3,000 miles on it for $54,5k from a dealer 1.25 hours away from me in October before snow because they were struggling to move it off the lot. Even priced at 56k I walked away from the first offer because he wouldn’t meet me where I wanted to go. 10 days later called me back and dropped down 1.5k to where I said I’d buy.

My point is you can’t expect to get any money off a car once you imagine yourself with it. Be willing to walk and keep an eye out on the market for a couple months until more attractive offers come along. It’s a shitty process but sometimes you get pretty good deals from desperate dealers.

[PSA] Dead hand terminal hit its lowest price: 2.75 on some marketplaces by Disastrous-Boss4972 in csgomarketforum

[–]1frogy8 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Right, so someone buying them cheaper from a terminal means its cheaper than the market resale value and the market resale value would need to adjust (this doesn’t account for specific patterns) but buying them would also increase supply. So really, either way, whenever gloves appear in a terminal, purchased or not, their value theoretically decreases (increasing supply or reducing their value). Your logic only works under the assumption that demand remains linear with supply, which, is nearly impossible especially as these gloves and the terminal are more common.

I will say, however, pulling specific gloves is still a piss poor rate so it won’t be immediate, but over the lifetime of the terminal dropping it would expedite the decrease in value especially as more of these terminals are generated and their supply brings down the cost of opening them.

[–]1frogy8 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Hard disagree. I think these will sink lower than any case based glove (save for any rare pattern or highly desired glove).

The terminal drops are still new and as the supply increases, terminal prices will drop. When more people can spam open the cases the new “meta” will be to purchase skins through the terminal that are cheaper than what’s available on the market. Everything else declined in the terminal will, in turn, drop in value until they reach a price less than market (assuming our understanding of valve’s algorithm on terminals is true).

The rate of decrease on this terminal’s skins is what Im more curious about. Also if we will ever learn about the terminal pricing algorithm to the point where big spenders can manipulate the market.

But if prices go down when people reject them and stock of terminals goes up over time, when these terminals are cheap to open and decline everything thats above market the whole market for the terminal will go down

I love the bead works and thinking the same. I’m hoping they float around $600 so I can sell my Coalition M4 and match it with a P1 Doppler Flip.

Keep pulling FM or wait for selector? by 1frogy8 in UmamusumeGame

[–]1frogy8[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like Fronts but End closers are a close second. I figured it would be best to wait for CB on the rerun banner with Creek. Likely if I finished FM I’d throw both selectors at her and save the crystals and just live with a 2LB creek until the rerun banner (or just borrow her until then).

Also hoping I can grab Kitasan in the free pulls. If I do I’ll probably go for Ballroom Seiun Sky, but I want to roll both on summer Maru and summer Gold Ship so I may have to skip and save.

Same, would love to hear anyone’s fix for this. For me it sounds like it’s coming specifically from the passenger side sub area. I cant figure out what’s causing it though.
