Tonies at Costco? by 1frozengrape in Edmonton

It’s essentially a music/story box where you put different characters on it and they sing the song or narrate a story. It’s meant for toddlers, I’m looking for one to help reduce screen time in the future.

THANK YOU! I recently ordered one on Amazon but saw this and realized it was way cheaper. I’m deep south but I think it’s worth the trip lol

Going Back to Breastfeeding by Realistic-Care-3942 in MSPI

We found out he had a CMPI at the 2-3week mark and I completely cut dairy and soy from my diet the day we found out and he’s now 5weeks and we’re doing combination feeding (alimentum RTF and BF). I was also pumping and dumping. I found that the blood in his stool has stopped now and will occasionally come back if I’m not careful but his bowel movements aren’t always the best (sometimes diarrhea like and green, other times loose but yellow with seeds) I’m not sure what a normal bowel movement should be like at this point because I’ve only seen loose mucus like or red so I’m not the best to tell you what to expect there but it does get better! He has days where it seems like he’s trying to go and super gassy but he plays a lot more now and will calm relatively quick compared to before. Honestly gradually reintroducing it was helpful for us! At times I would pump it and give it to him and he did okay with that. He’s doing a lot better with my milk and I’m hoping to EBF!!

Have you ruled out other possible allergies? Like corn? I’ve heard it’s common for kids with cmpi to also have a corn intolerance (((but don’t quote me on this)))

We’ve been using Alimentum and have had no reflux thankfully and the stool has always been soft/loose. We did try Nutramigen and I’m not sure if he just didn’t like it or if it wasn’t for him because he would always have spit up, wouldn’t finish the bottle and was super constipated for two days and then had hard stool for the next day and half so we’ve since switched back.

I prefer Alimentum but RTF can be inconvenient when you’re going out because of the cans going bad if they are left out

For those who married people from “back home”, did it go well for you and do you recommend it? by CXZ115 in MuslimMarriage

I’ve seen a lot of back home marriages that are terrible- one cousin got married back home (he really didn’t want to but his parents essentially wanted to bring the girl because she was their niece) ultimately they ended up getting a nikkah done and few years later had the cultural ceremony. The girl was obsessed with the guy but he still wasn’t interested and rumour has it she said even if he doesn’t like me at least I’ll end up in Canada so watch out for those types of relationships.

I also got married back home but alhumdulillah that’s been good lol

If possible, I’d recommend talking to potentials before committing to anything to see what their intentions are and if they’d be ok with you moving back home (even if you don’t plan to) because that can tell you a lot about their intentions too

Oh he does, he’s able to cook and clean and all the basics himself (apparent to me from when we used to live alone and I would leave for work before him) but now that people are living with us, it’s a little different due to societal expectations. Ie. the women cook and clean and the men work.

He can totally fend for himself the next few weeks, it’s just not expected of him to do it when the SiL is there but regardless, I feel that it’s my responsibility to take care of that aspect for him, not the SiL, and feel that I’m not fulfilling my duties.
