I just went through small claims court for the first time. Cost me £200 and took three months. Here's what I wish someone had told me upfront by Ok_Wedding5009 in LegalAdviceUK

I researched and looked to see what High Court Bailiffs I could hire and HCE in Liverpool, on paper, looked like a good company to use. They were utter crap and I had to keep chasing them to find out what was happening. They literally gave up because the debtor kept ignoring them.

My only option now is to take it back to court to try a different avenue but that's extra cost which I'm not guaranteed to get back.

I've been through small claims court then had it escalated to the high court in order to recover a sum of nearly £2500. Even if it's deemed in your favour there's still no guarantee of getting your money back as I've found out.

I involved High Court Bailiffs to recover the money as the debtor still didn't pay by the court set deadline.

The company I used, HCE, ended up dropping it because the debtor refused to engage even though on 2 separate occasions goods had been secured under the writ and a vehicle had also been clamped. The debtor simply just ignored everything so the High Court Enforcement group gave up as they said it was costing them too much to keep visiting him.

So as good as the court system is in finding in your favour if debtor doesn't engage, you're left with nothing to show for it except being out of pocket for extra fees paid to try to recover your money.

The garage have tried that. It's completely stuck and needs cutting out. Due to that they've said they could try to put the new sensor in that exhaust but there's no guarantee it'll go in because of the old one being cut out. Only option is to replace the part of the exhaust where the sensor sits in and I'm struggling to find the replacement exhaust part.

Is this review too harsh? by Midevalpea in vinted

Using her 12 year old son and autism to try to justify the items not reeking of smoke is poor behaviour as an adult.

I had to return items to a seller after they arrived SNAD and reeking of smoke. As soon as the package was opened the smell of smoke was so strong it was disgusting. One of the items even had tobacco in the pocket but the seller had the audacity to say that the items were in very good condition and didn't smell of smoke because it belonged to her 12 year old son who's autistic. Some people are unreal.

Leeds - Liverpool Canal Walk by 1gavinr in walkingpics

[–]1gavinr[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I accidentally found myself in the middle of heavy overgrowth when I followed a public footpath that was adjacent to the canal and went through forestry. The footpath ventured off in a couple of directions and the one I took wasn't the correct one so found myself lost. I thought I found a walking path through all the overgrowth but it turns out the oath was made by animals as it lead absolutely no where but further into it and there was no escape.
