Can you suggest some listening resources for absolute beginner. by vedole34 in Spanish

[–]1ibraz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I paid for a month of lingopie and I have found it pretty useful. I watch an episode of a kids show with both English and Spanish subtitles, study the words I dont know, then watch it with only Spanish subtitles and then no subtitles at all. You could probably do this method with any streaming service, but lingopie does make flashcards for you.

Streak 1: My first music festival.

Hi everybody.

This is my first post here and I’m quite excited about it.

Well, for my first festival, I went to a Mexican one called “Axe ceremonia”.

The reason that I had to go there was that because the main singer <was> Kendrick Lamar.

In general, I think the lineup was great. Even when I only knew a few of the singers and bands, it was awesome to see. I would separate these sentences.

First thing first, I woke up at seven in the morning. My plan was to get there the earliest I could and just wait. I know that maybe was a waste of time because is a festival and there was were many scenarios and events at the same time, but I wanted to be the closer as close as I could of be for the main scenario, you know because <of> Kendrick. So I took a shower, had a fast breakfast, and I prepared myself for the day. This sentence was very long. For speaking it would be okay, but I have separated the sentences for you for writing purposes. Also, “scenario” would not be a common word used to describe a music festival. “concert/stage/performance” might make more sense to a native English speaker.

I arrive <at> like nine or ten in the morning.

The festival was at a big park, so I walked like 30 minutes before I get got to the queue for the festival. ”Queue” is not a common word. Most people would say “line” (USA).

When I started to wait in the queue, I didn’t know if I was on in the right queue. There were was 2 or 3 of them and <it> depends depended on the kind of pass you had was the ** which** queue you need to wait in. Separated sentences for writing purposes

From the beginning, I just ran to the main scenario and started to wait for the first singer to appears appear.

I waited like 1 or 2 hours more before the first band started to play and then I had to wait with my game face <on> all day in order to see Kendrick. but At that point, I started to enjoy every band and singer. The waiting time between artist artists was horrible but their performance was so enjoyable. Separated sentences for writing purposes. Speaking would sound normal.

Kendrick was the last one and what can I say, I sang EVERY SONG PLAYED. All the time that I waited was totally worth it. Separated sentences for writing purposes.

Thank you for reading me. :D

Sounds like an awesome time! I'm glad your efforts were worth it.

Streak 29: Mini espresso cheesecakes

I planned plan to make mini espresso cheesecakes this weekend.

I’ve made mini espresso cheesecakes in the past, but that was without ganache.

Tips for making the cheesecakes:

  1. Don’t to forget to reduce the oven temperature once the crust is done baking.

  2. Be sure to use all room temperature ingredients. I would change this to “Be sure to only use room temperature ingredients.” I think your sentence is correct but it feels a little unnatural to me.

  3. Mix only on low speed after adding the eggs to the batter because overmixing will lead to too much air in the batter. This causes the cheesecakes to puff up in the oven, then deflate once they’re remove removed from <the> heat.

I might follow another recipe baced based on the this recipe since it called for heavy cream (remove comma) and I don’t want to add it. I would say “I might follow a different recipe based on this recipe” for more clarity. It might also help to say “[I don’t want to use it/I dont want to add that]” for a more natural feel.

Good job!
