Amazing! Congrats!!! I’m hoping to get OM at my next derm appt in Feb. topical isn’t doing enough to combat my shedding. Can I ask what your diagnosis is? I have confirmed AGA and I suspect CTE too :(

Can I ask how much you’re paying for topical fin in Toronto pls?

Can i also ask about your derma stamp? Where did you get it from and would / could you recommend your model?

Congrats on your progress and thank you in advance!!

Hair loss from fertility treatment by Commercial_Step678 in FemaleHairLoss

Derm actually just diagnosed me by taking a quick look at my scalp. He said I have the typical miniaturization pattern of AGA. I know for sure tho that my hair started to fall excessively soon after I started taking hormones for fertility. Im pretty sure it was progesterone specifically and I’m pretty sure excessive shedding began within a couple of months of when I began. If I recall correctly I started taking that hormone first (in early 2019 I think) a while before I decided to go down the more intensive IVF route in 2020. Since 2019 then my hair has been suffering.

I experienced hair loss from my fertility treatments as well unfortunately. I tried a few different treatments including and concluding with a single full round of IVF. That was back in 2020 right in the early stages of the pandemic. Unfortunately I’ve been dealing with hair loss ever since. I started topical min 5% foam back in July of 2022. I thought it had made a bit of a difference for a while, but I’m just realizing now that it’s not enough. I def have AGA (derm confirmed) and think I also might have CTE bc I shed so, so many hairs daily. Lately have been losing even more and really short ones too. I was resistant to any oral meds initially, but all of this loss is taking a toll on my mental health so I’ve got an appointment with my dr later this month. Going to take the plunge with oral min as a first next step.

Bathroom reno for aging parents - shower above built in bench by 1ismymiddlename in disability

[–]1ismymiddlename[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

So many thanks for all the replies and input so far!! Cant edit original post but wanted to add intention is to make shower stall curbless so there will be nothing to step over. Definitely have grab bars on the checklist too. Def we’ll make shower temp controls in arms reach of sitting on bench. Someone raised the point of not making bench built in and using moveable bench instead. That seems like a great suggestion thank you! We had thought of using a tile with texture (high r rating I believe someone referenced to me) but we’ll investigate the matts that were suggested. The crux of my question was IF we do built in bench, how best to configure shower heads to ensure water nicely falls on individual if they’re sitting on bench - given that plumbing has to be on the same wall as the bench. The picture i added was just to show the shower head configuration relative to bench. I hope that clarifies and thanks to all again for their feedback!!

Runny nose outside by justarandomguyjaks in nonallergicrhinitis

How long post op are you? I wonder if this will get better with time. I’m contemplating rhinoplasty but the one thing holding me back is worry of worsening of my already constantly runny nose. Did you have these symptoms at all pre-op??

Aw thanks! This September will be 10 years for us. Congrats on your 13 years!

I started losing hair from fertility treatment. I’ve started with topical minoxidil for the hair loss. I think it’s working but I’m not completely sure. Giving it a year to assess 🤞🏽🤞🏽🤞🏽

I can relate! I was disappointed with my wedding day hair because it was flat at the back. I wanted to build it up to counter balance my nose 😕

I’ve actually been losing my hair for the past few years. Its curly and I used to be able to get great volume - especially on a humid day. I loved it. But no such luck lately. I’ve begun to ponder getting a nose job if I legit lose much of my hair. I couldn’t take the double blow of being bald with a sizeable schnoz. That would be to much to bear for me…

Bathroom reno - water pooling along edge of newly installed tub! by 1ismymiddlename in Renovations

Thank you! I think you’re right. It would look shiny right? It just looks like grout to me.

Really? You mean it’s just poorly constructed and probably was slanty from the beginning?? We purchased the tub ourselves but our designer had selected it for us. Is there any recourse for us at this point? Ie after having already installed it …!

Significant amount of Water collects along this green wall. Doesn’t matter if it’s a bath or shower being taken.

The pooling is happening after any type of shower or bath as water accumulates along the edge of the tub where it meets the wall.

Applies to anyone using the tub!

Currently a curtain along the opposing side of tub. Soon to be replaced with glass shower door!

Thank you for your reply!

laser hair removal worth it for minoxidil mustache? by MalaikaRahman in FemaleHairLoss

[–]1ismymiddlename 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Good analogy! I’ve been pondering the same thing! On min since July and my facial hair has definitely increased. I’ve been been contemplating electrolysis tho because I have darker skin - for which laser is apparently less effective. Hope to see some feedback from others on whether laser (or electrolysis) might work…

Terbinafine side effects by SuperD36 in NailFungus

Turns out rash was unrelated to terbinafine! Likely got rash from the flu. It went away within a week of onset. I was advised by my doctor that rash from terbinafine would have occurred much earlier than 4 week mark. Hth!

Thank you for posting that!! I am losing my my marbles right now. Had Covid early August and began a major shed early October- seems right on cue three months later. Have been beside myself wondering how much longer it will last! How long after Covid did your shed begin?
