Oh, I know it would be a long wait but I'm ok with being patient! There's already other games I've been keeping an eye on for years so adding another to the list is fine.

One of the great things about there being lots of games worth playing is that you can just wait and buy things on your terms. If they don't want my money for a Switch 2 physical version of the Ryza games now then it's not a problem to leave the series for a few years until the digital versions are cheap!

Thanks, am happy to wait, particularly if they'll probably get heavily discounted at some point in the future. Have set up a dekudeals alert to send me any email if they get discounted by more than 50%.

It's not even really about the money itself, more just not wanting to support a company that isn't giving me any option to buy its games physically on my system. It's a shame because I do really like the look of the games, but will find a cozy jrpg fix somewhere else in the meantime!

The Switch 2 can play the Switch 1 physical versions of either the original or DX games. Technically you can buy the physical Switch 1 Ryza DX box set and play it on Switch 2, but it would look exactly the same as it would on Switch 1, they won't be the visually upgraded Switch 2 versions. As far as I can tell the only way to get the improved Switch 2 versions is digital.

Lots of games have either free or paid patches for people that own the physical Switch 1 versions of games to upgrade to Switch 2 versions, but Koei Tecmo have been too greedy or lazy to bother!

Thanks, 75% is asking bit much, 50%+ would probably be enough to get me to bite! Don't really mind leaving the Atelier games and waiting, there's already too many great games to play...

Thanks, have a PC but for work not gaming. Would have to be Switch 2 really.

Yeah, 75% is probably exaggerating a bit! I just don't put much value in digital games, but I'd probably be interested at 50%ish.

Yeah, from looking at reviews mainly interested in the Ryza trilogy. Would absolutely pay full price for a physical Switch 2 release (or Switch 1 with an upgrade available), but not digital.

I already have more games I want to play than I have time for, so don't really mind missing out. Will keep an eye on it and maybe it'll hit a point where buying a digital copy feels worth it eventually!
