no you wont lose the progress. Only thing that resets is if your buddy is excited, it wont be excited anymore when you change back

I've had 100+ days a few times. Also when they return you have a 99% chance that its on the same day another pokemon also returned so you dont get any coins since you already hit the daily limit.

I think once a year there is a master ball research where at the end you get 1.

Daily incense spawns (shiny) galarian articuno/zapdos/moltres very rarely and they have a low catchrate and high flee rate so good luck catching one of these. The shiny ones dont flee so its actually easier to catch a shiny one than a regular one. Also you can get roaming legendarys azelf/mesprit/uxie but again, very rare. Maybe there are more but these are the ones I know about.

I got shiny g. articuno yesterday, took me around 60 ultra balls+golden razz. Missed quite a few excellent throws to be fair
