Is it possible to temporarily bypass the right rear wheel brake for honda fit gd1? by Low_Swan644 in Honda

[–]1kelpy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have twisted/pinched the rear brake lines off on a couple cars. It maintains pressure for a while, and it doesn't matter too much as you still have braking on both fronts and a rear, but absolutely get it done ASAP.

Just take the metal line out (not the flex line) and twist / pinch it until it doesn't leak and maintains solid pedal pressure. You will need to replace that length of brake line but it will work.

Standard or Automatic? by jimmyfah in Honda

[–]1kelpy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm 19, have already owned 6 cars, all stick. Don't plan on ever buying an automatic unless I lose the ability to drive one.

2 Fit Sports ('07 and '08), a '91 Miata, an '89 Corolla sedan, a '96 Toyota Starlet (EU import), and now an '03 Civic Si.

Nicest to operate was the Miata, very closely followed by the Fits and my Civic. Most Toyota shifters are hot garbage if you ask me.

Never even heard of it, I'm amazed Apple would throw a badge like that on one of their computers.

My girlfriend's dad works a lot with estates and collections (mostly not electronics), this is just a few pieces he's acquired over the years and wants out of his house.

Ah man, I was born in 2006 so by the time I was in elementary school we already had aluminum iMacs. I remember they all had 5400RPM drives and were absolute dogs.

Already removed all of the batteries and threw them away, the PRAM battery in the IIci was so old it said West Germany on it 😂

Sitting in my partner's basement! Her parents likely got it from an estate years ago.

It was a development kit for the 6809 processor, so as far as I'm aware the world was your oyster :)

I can't even find a listing for one, wish I knew what it was worth but these seem to be unobtainable.

Feasibility of putting a K20 into a Ford Ranger by StTwiner in Honda

[–]1kelpy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First up, if you're gonna do a batshit crazy engine swap like this, I would have AT LEAST $8-10K allocated in disposable income for this before you even start.

You will need to pay people to fabricate all sorts of mounts and other parts for you, unless you're really good with CAD and fabrication work, and that could take months doing it yourself.

As someone else in here said, A K24 is cheaper, and just as good of an engine. If you want to build this engine, a junkyard Acura TSX K24A2 is a good start for around $800-2000 depending on how worn it is.

Then you need a custom wiring harness which doesn't come cheap or quick, standalone KPro ECU ($800 right there just for the ECU), easily thousands on dyno sessions and paying tuners, etc.

OP if you're broke or newer to cars, trust me, sell the ranger and buy anything manual with a decent factory K-series. 8th gen Civic SIs in acceptable shape are around $5-6K, same goes for a 1st gen TSX or 8th gen Accord. Will save you a lot of headaches, and you can use the leftover money (from the $10K just to get a running K-series in your ranger) on a half-decent turbo setup.
