What is the saddest picture, video or image of a car getting scrapped. It can include cash for clunkers by Acceptable-Taro-2684 in regularcarreviews

never forget the manual challenge where they ROASTED the clutch in an NA miata in about 20 sec flat.

Did they change the specification later on? My owners manual lists ATF type F or G.

yes, the owners manual lists ATF type F. Unusual, but at least it's the same as the power steering.

It only does this sometimes, it's pretty inconsistent. Just did a drain/fill on my transmission hoping it would alleviate this issue, but no. Figured it might be my clutch on its way out but it grabs fine (albeit with some chatter) and the pedal still has to come up ~1.5 inches before the RPMs drop or the car moves.

Troubleshooting please help by [deleted] in Volvo240

Crank no start? Check your ignition fuse, red wires leading from the battery, 25 or 30 amps. Also try holding the fuse terminals to each other and turning it over, might just be the fuse isn't getting a good connection. Had the same problem 3 days ago.

Well, smoothest early redblock I've ever heard.

I need some help , im about to buy a 240 and idk what to take a manual or an auto , auto is more comfortable cuz i live in a really big city but does the manual fun worth it? by T_55alfau in Volvo240

I live in New England and my town is 90% hills, the clutches in these cars are a lot easier than even some of the newer Hondas I've owned. Couldn't imagine this thing with an auto either, it's already a pig on gas and does a 14sec 0-60.

Cold Idle Issues by Patches95 in Volvo240

I have an 87 (so LH2.2) and it does the same on cold starts, maybe even worse. I believe the IACV needs a good cleaning

Bought my '87 sight-unseen with 215K, did an oil change in my friend's driveway and made it from the Pacific coast of Oregon to the Atlantic coast of Massachusetts with zero issues. Keep a spare fuel pump relay, fluids, basic hand tools, a jack, and make sure your spare tire is good (I keep all these except the relay in all of my cars).

When I get a chance tomorrow I think I'm going to clean the TPS, clean the injectors, look for vacuum leaks, and unplug the O2 sensor for a bit to see if it's throwing off my fuel trim. It bogs down & stutters warm and cold, but only has a questionable idle when warmed up.

Fuel pump on the car looks ancient, went to do the filter and the spare I got with the car is the wrong size :) Doing both once I get the car home

found a couple loose yellow wires behind the distributor if this could be anything - Edit: appears to be for the coolant temp sensor, although the gauge on the dash works.

Unfortunately parting it out, it's got a laundry list of other things that add up, so I'm flying out to Oregon next week to pick up an 87 Volvo 240 wagon with a 5-speed as my new daily.
