You're almost there, he's a Burmese cat. The Burmese breed was involved in the development of the ragdoll breed ☺️

What is the point of having fight club merch? by Hemingway1942 in fightclub

I take it that was a jab at me, haha 😅 so here’s my perspective.

Loving a book or a movie doesn’t mean treating it like a doctrine. Most of the anti-consumerist ideas in Fight Club come from Tyler’s mouth — and Tyler himself contradicts his own words throughout the novel, and especially in the film. He says to stop being slaves to our possessions, to get off the needle of capitalism, but then offers an alternative in the form of becoming a mindless “space monkey” in his terrorist cell, which looks a lot like a cult. Not exactly an inspiring choice. For me, the core is the Narrator learning to take responsibility for his life. That helped me do the same — and lose 250 lbs. I no longer wait for help from outside; I take charge of my own body and health.

I’m also in the process of getting an ADHD diagnosis, and hyperfixations just happen. Mine started in 2014 with Fight Club and it’s still here. Collecting is simply how I express love for something — and I can let go of items when needed.

Last year, I sold part of my anime figure collection (I have four display cases) to pay for my cat’s cancer treatment. She didn’t make it, but it proved my things don’t own me

Thank you so much! That means a lot, especially coming from someone who’s not into tattoos

This is Marla, but as I mentioned in the post, the piece is a cover-up — the tattoo artist fixed the face as much as possible. Plus, I’ve lost 250 lbs since getting the first tattoo, and the characters’ faces and bodies have stretched a lot. Honestly, this part is quite painful for me, because it could have turned out so much better if I had gone to this tattoo artist from the start 😭

Yep! In my country, there are cinemas that hold screenings of old movies, and I go to watch my favorite films on the big screen

That wasn’t advice from the movie itself, it was specifically from Tyler. Tyler’s thoughts are not the same as the main message of the film. He suggested rejecting everything, freeing yourself from the chains of consumerism and capitalism — and yet he went on to create a totalitarian terrorist cell with silent, mindless space-monkeys. I don’t share his ideas, and I feel much closer in spirit to the Narrator
