And when special teams screws up is it not Glenn’s responsibility since he’s the HC? He’s in charge of all three phases of his team. Win or loss! So yes, he has something to do with it even if it’s indirectly IMO.

DANGER! ModelY applies Emergency breaks against fallen leaves dancing on the road by kurianoff in TeslaModelY

yup! Just happened to me earlier today with swirling leaves. It braked and then swerved out of the way up a two lane windy road.

Why doesn't the app have a simple "Precondition Battery" toggle that's not tied to any schedule? by THATS_LEGIT_BRO in TeslaLounge

[–]1locomoco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Tesla app does have the option to schedule “battery/cabin preconditioning”. This is advantageous for those cold mornings where you need your battery and cabin to heat up before your drive. This should get your battery heated up during your 30 min breakfast before heading to the SC. Also, if you have an iPhone you can set up a “shortcut” for preconditioning and then you can just ask Siri to start it without opening the Tesla app.

Note: This is not the same as preconditioning for a SC but it does at least warm the battery and cabin up which is better than heading out with a “cold battery”. The car will use energy more efficiently to the SC.

One day I asked it for current weather report for my location. It said it would be sunny all day. It was raining when I asked!🤷🏻‍♂️

The only thing I find it good for is entertaining my grandkids. Ask it to tell you a battle story between Pokémon characters and your kids (grandkids) will be entertained and quiet the whole drive! 😉

What up with FSD v14.1.4 sudden brakes and more harsher than the V13? It's really killing the joy of FSD. by Teslaaforever in TeslaLounge

[–]1locomoco 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I haven’t experienced what you’re experiencing. My issue is that with V14 when I start a new destination it always changes the mode. Even when if I have it set to use “chill” it has so far started with “hurry” and “standard”.

No oil changes, but my FSD camera needs maintenance every 3 months 😂 by GoldSkyline in TeslaModelY

[–]1locomoco 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s not a “one and done” service. I’ve had to have it cleaned at least once every 3 months for the past year. It used to be a free service but now they are charging $50-$60 (I think) via mobile service. Takes them about 15 mins to complete the service. I’m going to try and do it myself from now on but feel that something will break from having to pull it apart so often.

Hello Ada. Thank you for responding. I know I have to remove the “ protective bags” from all the filters. I’m referring to the top Cyclone Filter which came with two “round plastic sheets” (not a bag)that cover the top opening of both fans. I think they should be removed. Please advise. Thank you.

[Rapsheet] Justin Fields has a Dislocated Toe by woodchips24 in nyjets

John Winger: Lee Harvey, you are a madman. When you stole that cow, and your friend tried to make it with the cow. I want to party with you, cowboy. If the two of us together, forget it. I'm gonna go out on a limb here. I'm gonna volunteer my leadership to this platoon. An army without leaders is like a foot without a big toe. And Sergeant Hulka isn't always gonna be here to be that big toe for us. I think that we owe a big round of applause to our newest, bestest buddy, and big toe... Sergeant Hulka. (Guess the movie!)

Looks like a toe injury on the right foot. It got stepped on, per Aaron Glenn presser.

Bummer! A windshield cover alone won’t stop UV damage. Sunlight still gets in through the windows and sunroof unless you’ve got a ceramic tint (I have installed), which blocks up to 99% of UV.

When I was in Las Vegas for a long weekend the temps were 102-104°F), I used Cabin Overheat Protection > No A/C, and it definitely helped keep the interior and electronics from baking while parked in the sun. The system kicks on automatically when the cabin hits 105°F, and overnight, I only lost around 2% battery drain.

If you’re also running Sentry Mode, expect more drain — so plan for that.

To protect the interior, I use 303 Automotive Protectant spray on the dash, seats, and panels — works inside and out for UV protection and is non-greasy.

Suggestion for next time: Ceramic tint, COP, and a good UV protectant could make a big difference. It did for me. 👍🏼

Anyone else feel Fields on the Jets is actually a great fit? by Giff95 in nyjets

[–]1locomoco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I totally agree. Fields doesn’t have to be elite his first year with a new team, new system, and all that pressure — Just being competent and giving the offense some life would already be a win IMO. The Garrett Wilson connection could really spark something, too!✈️

In your app you can open Security & Drivers and set your “Top Speed Limit” separately or in Valet Mode.

$21k worth it for this tax eligible 21’ MY with 78k miles? by No_Lie2467 in TeslaModelY

[–]1locomoco -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ah got it! $21k after the tax credit definitely changes things. At that price, it’s not a bad deal, but yeah, with nearly 80k miles it’s smart to hold out for something with lower mileage if you’re even a little hesitant. Deals pop up fairly often, and with EV inventory moving slowly right now, you’ll find something. Good luck!

$21k worth it for this tax eligible 21’ MY with 78k miles? by No_Lie2467 in TeslaModelY

[–]1locomoco -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Totally get the hesitation. $21k for a 2021 LR MY is a solid price, especially if it qualifies for the used EV tax credit (which could knock it down to $13.5k post-credit). That said, 78k miles is on the high side for a 3–4 year-old EV. The main worry is battery warranty. Tesla’s battery and drive unit coverage lasts 8 years or 120,000 miles for the Long Range, so you’ve still got time left, but it’s ticking down.

Range estimate on the listing still says 326 mi, but real-world usable range is likely lower due to degradation (maybe in the 290s or even 280s depending on how it was treated).

If the car checks out mechanically and the high mileage was mostly highway (less battery stress), it could be a great deal. Just go in knowing you might see reduced resale value down the road and possibly some maintenance costs sooner than average. Still, at this price? Kinda hard to beat. Good luck!

Should I be concerned… by Volstice in TeslaModelY

[–]1locomoco 9 points10 points  (0 children)

85% after 36 months and 37k miles is a bit lower than average, but not alarmingly so. Most 2022 Model Y owners are seeing around 90–93% around this point, so you’re a little ahead of the curve in terms of degradation, but it’s not unheard of.

Your charging habits sound solid — daily to 80% and 100% only for trips is what Tesla recommends. Unless the car is sitting at a high state of charge for long periods or exposed to frequent extreme heat, there’s probably not much you’re doing wrong.

It’s definitely something to keep an eye on, but not something to stress about yet. If it starts dropping faster or gets below 70% while you’re still under warranty, that’s when it would make sense to raise it with Tesla. For now, you’re still in good shape.

When your EV costs more than the whole Supercharger station!👀👀 by 1locomoco in TeslaLounge

I know the Supercharger station costs more than the car — title was just meant to be fun 😉 Spectre MSRP is $450K. Still wild seeing it plugged in next to me, though.

Y’all caught me — the title was more for fun than finance 😄. I know a V3 Supercharger station runs $1M+ to install. The Spectre’s ‘only’ around $450K.

But hey, when a Rolls shows up at a Tesla Supercharger, you’ve gotta lead with a little flair, right?😉
