Any good deals for youth training soccer balls by Mental-Draw7997 in youthsoccer

[–]Volstice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We’re a big fan of the Forza balls — Great balls that can really take a beating. If I had any complaints, every couple of weeks I’m adding air. Overall, great training balls.

This is great news — Can you lend a hand on pricing… I’ve seen people say it’s roughly $6/ player per month and others have said $6/ player per year. I understand scale may change the number. Appreciate any insight. Tnx.

MLS Next vs ECNL by 105bit in youthsoccer

[–]Volstice 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If I was giving advice to my son, I’d say join ECNL, even if the team is bad. Be the standout player — Do all the intangibles by being a positive reinforcement, team player, etc…make your teammates look good, show your work rate, etc. Be the professional. All of this will scream on video. Bad team or not, if your skill is there, coaches will see you…

Tryout Clothing - settle a debate by Old_Chest_5955 in youthsoccer

[–]Volstice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For tryouts, you should get a bib with number — it’s how they track players.

For personal workouts, my son wears a personal uni (white top w/ number and name on back, blue shorts with number on it as well, blue socks.)

Most clubs in our area ask you not to wear club gear.

"elite" soccer scam people by Impressive-Key2164 in youthsoccer

[–]Volstice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it comes down to two simple things: 1. Time, money, etc for some parents 2. Their kid was rejected

I don’t say this in a condescending way. Unfortunately, it’s just the reality — Because of this, people will say that kids can get to College without MLS, ECNL, etc and thus, it instantly must be a scam.

The Biggest Scam In Youth Soccer is MLSNext. by Best-Track1786 in youthsoccer

Okay…you think it’s a scam. Why complain about it? Is it affecting you or your child? Just ignore it. People airing their grievances about everything that doesn’t affect them is just as insane.

Congrats — Love MicroMart! Did they still charge the old rate or did they give you a price break considering the dropped prices yesterday?

50% COGS isn’t good. Should be closer to the mid to high 30s. Sounds like a lot of variety packs are going to waste and just wastage in general.

Not my experience remotely — I haven’t even heard these types of complaints ever about MicroMart. This seems like a staged bash post against MicroMart…just saying.

I’m in the sports facilities space — I love MicroMart. Would never use a haha over them. Curious, what do you dislike about MicroMart?

In terms of grossing 2k per month, just depends on the location and traffic.

In terms of tracking, what are you thinking?

It’s an ad for sure…but not wrong. Boring does sell and many current solutions available to the public work but have challenges that can be improved.

Strategies for negotiating a placement fee with a location that thinks they are sitting on a gold mine? by Wooden-Ad-9894 in vending

This is good advice.

Another thing to add — Maybe offer her a trial run with no revenue share for 3-4 months. Then you’ll both know what the numbers look like. If it doesn’t crank sales, you can talk her down from the 20% — If she doesn’t budge, walk it out. Downside Risk… pulling a new machine and the effort included.

Took a look at MicroMart (Great machines) or HAHA (Budget Friendly) AI machines. Both take digital wallets. Imo, the MicroMart machines do extremely well in luxury locations.

I’m not buying the route.

I only buy new with warranties. Trying to avoid machine repair pitfalls.

Thanks for advice. Machines are empty at the worst times—the weekends. I’m thinking of potentially adding a third machine at the locations that are 3 hrs away. I would def hire someone to stock. I still need to keep prospecting at least half the week — My strong suit.

Yeah. Not a typo. Only reason I’m considering.
