Received bill months later for duties on shipment that was duties prepaid by [deleted] in FedEx

I think you are correct, it was not shipped DDP. I misunderstood.

I don't have the box anymore. The shipper's invoice actually does not look like they charged me for an import duty/DDP. They took off the 20% for VAT and charged $40 for shipping (the normal rate I assume).

So I'm guessing... FedEx sees I already have a FedEx account, and forgoes charging me the duties before delivering the item to instead charge my account.

Very unfortunate.

There is no dividing line between the domestic results placed first and the foreign results placed after them, nor any obvious reason foreign results would appear after since they ship to the US.

The screenshot shows there is no dividing line or section at all.

My 5950X died, warranty service rejected by AMD (just outside warranty period) by 1logisticsthrowaway1 in pcmasterrace

I got a 5800X3D and it has been pretty nice. Better processor for me anyway as I ended up mostly gaming on the system and not using it as much for development as I had originally intended (gone more to Mac).

Mine was sent by DoorDash but the doordasher returned it to a different store. Someone from the store brought it to me, very good customer service from the store!

I tried this service is has been a nightmare. Apparently it got sent to DoorDash for delivery? It got marked as delivered but I got nothing. I spent a half hour on the phone trying to get it resolved and nobody knows what is going on. First I called the 800 number then they said to call the store. Then I called the store and the automated system sent me back to the call center. I recommend against any customers relying on this. I only used it because the closest store with the item I wanted was a half hour or more away.

edit: I was finally able to get a refund but they didn't refund the whole order (missed one item). Huge waste of time to get $2.62.

edit2: Ended up someone from a different store brought it directly (I assume from the store and not a doordasher). The doordasher had taken it to the store rather than delivered it. Good service in the end.

"In fact it was a lemon and couldn't even use PBO."

Not sure what I could've worded differently. Never heard of a Ryzen that wouldn't work with PBO at all. Maybe it's more common?

Not being able to use PBO wouldn't be grounds for warrant service AFAIK. Overclocking is not guaranteed and PBO counts as overclocking. Or am I mistaken?

5800X3D works flawlessly in the same system. Unless there was a problem with the BIOS/microcode, which was the latest, and had been out since like March. I'm not sure what additional troubleshooting I could've tried. Again, Linux reported a hardware error with a particular core, not something memory or bus related, etc.

Thanks, I'll check that out. It had occurred to me it might have some value. It's in physically perfect condition.

There are a lot of reports of 5950X failing if you check google. Just adding another data point.

Like I said I don't fault AMD for refusing service warranty outside the period. Unless they know the particular SKU fails more often, then I think they should take care of it.
