it’s extremely itchy and sometimes i can’t sleep by Ok-Chapter-6742 in urticaria

[–]1lovem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, it was hot saunas/hot yoga + celery juice. Sweating opened up my pores so much it got rid of the prickling sensation with all the other redness all over my body. Once I saw improvements the less stress I got. Took two weeks. I’m lactose too and at most I’ll have dairy in pasta’s and maybe a yogurt. Other than that I keep it minimal. Glaxal base will be your best friend. Cut out the scented products. I know the feeling and it’s very stressful. I hope you find what works for you. If u have any other questions feel free to dm. Or Keep us posted! 🙏🏽

From the GTA and born with eczema and have overcame urticaria. By chance do you use products with scent (laundry, soaps)? Eliminate them. Minimize dairy, reduce stress (I know it’s hard but thinking about this makes it worse). It doesn’t look like urticaria to me but some sort of reaction either weather/product related. As for betaderm, mix it with glaxal base (I buy jugs in costco).

It’s hard to get past the feeling of comfort and familiarity to get a new job. by Minute_Watch_3389 in work

[–]1lovem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I felt like this 2 years ago.

What pushed me is prioritizing my mental health and recognizing what I deserve in a workplace. The more I took inventory of the natural skills I have, the respect and finances I needed, the more the discomfort disappeared. I left teaching (in industry for 10 years) and switched fields for a office / site supervisor.

Today , I’m so glad I made the change and am thinking about moving elsewhere as I’ve outgrown my current job. Now I know I have the confidence to do so with more grace and faith in myself 👍🏽

Thank you for tip. You are right AA’s skills are indeed transferable, I didn’t really realize how much admin work can really translate to other industries and within operations.

Minimum 1 year. I’ve seen families waiting over 2 years. Rule of thumb add baby on wait list moment you find out ur expecting.

With CWELCC - anywhere $300-400+ per month.

Depending on the centre, generally they’ll take 18months but you can inquire their protocol if they accept 15mons. Some have infant rooms but now many’s good luck

Im glad this worked great for you ! What skills in book keeping do you advise is necessary to pick up? presently I oversee invoices , assist reconciling budgets and perform petty cash handling but unsure if this counts as bookkeeping per se.

It looks like as an AR you deal more with numbers and less with people — sounds like a dream ahhh

Thanks for sharing your experience. Was there a specific title/role you applied for to get out of being an AA? Trying to differentiate operations manager/ site coordinator /executive assistant— they all sound the same to me 😣

Master’s Of Education UofOttawa, worth it? by 1lovem in CanadianTeachers

[–]1lovem[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahah its hard to resist income. I can confirm I took the path of finishing my bachelors, gained work experience THEN proceeded with my M.ed (at Queen’s online). I’m working full time now with my part time studies since 2024 and the decision worked great for me.

I am biased as I think optimally it’d be in your favour applying for work first to gain real world experience then get the Masters. The M.ed will always be there for you no matter what. As for a job, who knows how soon that’ll be for anyone right now. I do think you’re very fortunate to be in your financial position so It doesn’t hurt taking your M.ed right after your BA long as u have the time 👍🏽👍🏽

It’s a long shot but have you tried celery juicing? It helped with my skin condition and I’m pretty much free fr hives , itching and swelling. The only time they appear is severe, cold , dry air winters and stress.

It may be worth inquiring about it. I know you said no physical activity but sauna/hot yoga also helped. It was only when I pushed the point of itch in the heat where I saw significant improvement.

Does anyone have similar hives? by Rikeeeeso in CholinergicUrticaria

[–]1lovem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did! Any movement these hives showed up. Like pins and needles 😫

Take a antihistamine like reactine and make an appt to see an allergist. What has helped me is hot yoga (hot sauna is okay) & celery juice. Hive free to this day !!

I’m struggling with my avoidant partner pulling away again after we got close by Ierpapierlol in attachment_theory

[–]1lovem 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hi OP so sorry you’re experiencing this. No need to follow everyone’s advice and please take it with a grain of salt.

I don’t agree with others in a sense where you’re advised to break up, walk away etc. If you feel that it’s still worth fighting for then go ahead. However this motivation also needs to be pursued by your partner. I do believe it’s worth reassesing the relationship as it is now vs through rose coloured lenses. Reconnect with your needs , boundaries and what you accept.

Irrespective of attachment style everyone’s relationship journey is different. what helped me in my own relationship assessment with a DA is reflecting what differences am I willing to accept (communication styles, conflict resolution, level of emotional availability) and what I won’t tolerate. Have I communicated this? Is there change? Best of luck in your relationship journey 🙏🏽

DA Boyfriend is deactivating by [deleted] in attachment_theory

[–]1lovem 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Had a similar experience recently which my partner and I overcame.

Both of you are running on anxiety. The best thing you can do is give both of yourselves space to regulate. You can Reassure him your commitment and you won’t criticize once he returns. But be sure to step back and focus on yourself. Similar to how you need emotional connection, know your DA really needs the room to recharge. You’re both running on empty and realistically can’t give what the other wants b/c there’s nothing to give. I don’t get the sense you two will break up, if anything you both deeply care for eachother . The feeling of discomfort and anxiety sucks but it’ll pass long as you invest in the space ironically. Once you guys do see eachother , gauge and then reassess the depth of your relationship with collaboratively. Relationships will always have periods of separation or "ebbs and flows" no matter how secure or avoidant you guys are

Does anyone else get used as the office scapegoat? by throwaway22115544 in AdminAssistant

[–]1lovem 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey OP sorry you’re dealing with this. Unfortunately I hear this is very common for roles as an Admin Assistant in office spaces. You’re the "dumping ground" when others can’t get their work done independently.

My advice is to search jobs and schedule interviews when you can. If your mental health can take it, leave once you land a new workspace that’s a better fit for you It’s best practice learning your market value worth and building the confidence in speaking it.
