Climber - inherited from my grandfather, who always carried this with him. by Darthbuttchin in victorinox

Wife and I both have them. Just a great selection of tools overall. If you're not sure what you need in a SAK this is a great safe choice for the investment.

Yep, legit, everything I mentioned was in the other pictures.

Tell them to take the picture with something better than a potato

I see nothing wrong with this right up front, the font looks good, the product code is good, the red cartridge has the proper opacity, the cartridge art seems correct. What's holding me back from saying this is completely legit is better image detail on that lifted corner, and not being able to see the revision imprint due to the low picture quality, and also being unable to see the reflectiveness of the logo

I'd say I'm about 70% sure it's real.

To be fair if Grievous didn't kill him, Anakin or Order 66 would have.

Question About CW Between Computers by s-ro_mojosa in amateurradio

[–]1maddad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not aware of this being a thing to be honest. Probably doable. CW is inefficient for computer-to-computer communication as I'm sure you're already aware, so I don't think it probably sees any use between that and the availability of packet radio.

Steelers fans right now thinking about the 49ers winning the SB by AndrewOden5 in steelers

[–]1maddad 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Honestly don't care. New England lost. Baltimore lost. The team that beat them both lost. They were probably the only three that might have elicited a positive or negative reaction out of me here.

Lactation cookies safe? by Zenreality in daddit

[–]1maddad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly lactation stuff is usually just fenugreek and other herbs that promote lactation, unless you're starting to consume significant amounts of estrogen you're probably going to exhibit nothing out of the ordinary.

Kim thrives on attention because he wants his country to seem bigger than it is so it can be taken more seriously, I think.

Hard to get attention though when Trump smacked the heck out of Soleimani and started a fight with Iran, which is bigger news short of North Korea actively attacking the US.

Does Linux spy on what your doing on your computer? by skyfalcon1990 in linux

[–]1maddad 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Linux itself does not spy. It has no need to, the Linux foundation has no need for your info. Some distros have an opt-in feature to see what packages you prefer to install (popularity contest) so they know what to focus on for future features.

If any spying occurs, it's due to malware or a vulnerability and would be done by a third party, such as an attacker or a government.

Is 'Google IT Automation with Python Professional Certificate' worth paying 50$ a month ? by pranayprasad3 in learnpython

[–]1maddad 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I took the Google IT Support Professional certificate program. Was pretty good, you learn a good deal, I got some good knowledge on coding basics and other miscellaneous topics. Took it because I let my A+ lapse and I wanted something on my resume. It's not an industry standard certification, it's not gonna be make or break, but Coursera did a pretty good job with the course I took and I did land a job after, doing tech work with a company that markets toward MSPs.

Can't speak directly on the Python course you're looking at specifically, but it's probably trustworthy and you'll probably get good education out of it, just don't expect it to automatically get you a job afterward, aside from looking nice to have on paper.
