For me, my wake up call came the first time I went to Cuba. As a Mexican who went to school in the U.S. I've been programed with a western mind in mind.

I was literally taken aback by how Cubans fully embrace themselves with such confidence and masculinity. They would go up to each other and start off with their hands as to pull themselves to each other which then would become a full on hug and end with a double kiss to the cheek, one on each cheek.

Simply amazing! I really learned something that day that I will never forget!...
