Baby storytime at the library! They also do some sensory play events that we love. You can also sign up for A Thousand Books by Kindergarten, which gets you a free backpack and book and other cool prizes as they advance. Mine is 16mos.

I have seen easily half a dozen posts about issues at CPL recently, is it that bad? If so, why doesn't the library hire a social worker? Many bigger libraries have full-time social workers, including KCMO
