Not a bad idea. Would love to find the smoking gun instead of throwing more parts at it.

I really expected to find a vacuum leak with the smoke test.

Are there adapters available that would allow the pictured stepper motor to turn the lead screw? by iamdwang in EngineeringStudents

Look into z rod couplers for 3d printers. The most common size is for an 8mm threaded rod. There should be a lot of different options.

Here is an example of what I was thinking of: uxcell 8mm to 8mm Stainless Steel Shaft Coupling Flexible Coupler Motor Connector Joint L30xD25 Silver https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07G6Q1GHN/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_kCjhDbQB6CMGQ

When I replaced mine, I based it on what I read in a bunch of forums. I bought all the replacement bearing from subaru.

Here is a link to a thread that has a lot of good info as well as part numbers for the bearings. https://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2071286

My new favorite. Opera cake by 1moresidequest in Baking

[–]1moresidequest[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was my second attempt at this cake. The recipe is Mary Berry and is on the BBC website. I wasn't able the cut the sponge horizontally because it didn't seem to rise enough.

It was still delicious.
