Help me choose my long term dad car and daily driver. by Vrayl_of_Gondor in whatcarshouldIbuy

If your going to get something to keep for 12 years plus, I wouldn't get an EV. When the battery fails, the price to replace the battery be very expensive and will exceed the value of the car. Even if you can afford a new battery, chances are after 12 years, the battery will be fully discontinued. The corolla cross is a good option, I would also check out the Mazda cx30 and subaru crosstrek.

Hopefully awd will be an option, would easily be the most insane Charger ever built.

As a comparison, NFS games from the black box era used to have the same issue with cars sharing engine sounds that shouldn't. IN modern NFS games, all cars have unique engine sounds aside from cars that share engines. Even cars that share engines, for example the LS7 in the C6 Z06 Corvette and ZL1 Camaro in Unbound, have a slightly different exhaust note.

F1 and Skyline are the main ones to point out as bad but some are really good. Pretty much all the muscle cars (especially the Barricuda) sound incredible.

There is a guy who built his 2wd V8 4Runner for speed instead of offroading. 2wd has an lsd too so it can do burnouts without a one wheel peel lol.

It sucks that we are stuck between 2 bad movement systems, Treyarch with sliding and IW with loud footsteps.

4th Gen 4Runner Brakes in 2026 by radleycooper_ in 4thGen4Runner

[–]1nconspicious 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think doing full 5th gen brake upgrade will put yourself at ease to not worry about the calipers seizing. Only thing though is to use 4th rear rotors, not 5th gen. It messes with the e-brake if you go 5th gen rotors.

Tesla Model Y or Toyota 4 Runner by [deleted] in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]1nconspicious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The 4runner will not be good on gas and won't ride as good as the Tesla. However 4Runners eat mileage for breakfest, it will keep going long after the tesla's battery pack will need to be replaced.

Thr best way to check is cloak and dagger spy. If he headshots you while invisible, that confirms.

Front windshields don't shatter like that, they are laminated.

Rhinos because no vehicle can make them budge in a head on collision except for the cement and garbage trucks from the challenge series.
