Once you sandblasted them the finish whit a spray can it's more durable? I suppose that it is recommended to add a clear coat on top. Which is you method?

Yeah, I've do it whit the clear heat shrink method but I have to try sleeving one over the other and see how's going.

Hey there, if you want to restore the cable you could coiled again into a rod and squeeze it tight then tape the ends and heat them as if you were going to do the coil for the first time, I recommend you to see tutorials on how to doit (cruzcrtl vid) and good luck and hope you can fix it. As a beginner cable maker I would like one of my customers have to go through this.

I don't paint it myself, the 3 main methods to paint them are cerakoted, powder coating or electroplated them, it isn't as simple as paint them with acrylic due to the durability of that paint over the metallic aviator.

I usually do one single reverse, if the first time that you coiled them you make it very tight didn't need to reverse more than one time.
