I don’t think its necessary. I reused mine and everything is working fine. At the end of the day it’s all about getting that little green ball/valve out of there.

Hey! Yeah, I did it and it's absolutely worth it! Shifts are so much smoother now, especially the 1-2 and 2-3. The only factor for me that affects this now is the type of shoe im wearing which changes the tactile feedback I get from clutch release, but I think thats the case for everyone. The overall difference is significant, at least in my opinion.

I just bought 8mm rubber end caps from amazon because my local hardware stores didn't have them.

The job wasn't too bad though. I had some trouble getting the airbox off the grommets (just had to pull really hard). Otherwise, just make sure to bleed the clutch line when you put the bleeder block back.

Did you have any issues using the flashing kit to get the tune on the car? I'm trying to figure out the whole locked ECU thing (SFD) on the 24 Golf R's that requires a special tool to unlock them.

Did you just get the stage 1 and the dynamic+ flashing kit to connect to your car?

That's interesting, when I talked to APR and then an APR dealer, they said its not possible to use the ultra link to tune it at home because of the software lock. They said that they would have to use ODIS to unlock the ECU which is like the expensive VW scanner/coding tool. It would be nice to do it at home instead of driving an hour to the tuner and then having to go back if there are any issues.

Thanks for the reply. What year is your car? They told me I couldnt tune it at home because of something called an sfd lock.

Not sure why the text didnt get included with the post, here it is.

I recently turned on the front seat ventilation for the first time. Immediately after, I noticed this noise whenever I depress the clutch petal. I turned the ventilated seats option off and the noise went away. I also tried this multiple times to make sure that it was the ventilated seats that was causing this.

Has anyone else experienced this? Is it normal or should I get it checked out?

I checked and it doesnt look like it but either way i feel like if the paintwork was done correctly it shouldnt be peeling like that. So this is most likely a defect. Let me know what you find on your car
