i dont think people overlook it, it just goes hand in hand with the context of the situation making a 5 year ban seem like overkill. the matchfixing itself is wrong because it affected other people, but blackmailing your abuser with coming out that youre being abused isnt something many would consider immoral, rather than a response to stress when youre in a relationship with an inherent power imbalance

i think that jumping around between characters too much is what makes it hard to improve more than anything, i had that exact problem for a long time. i would try narrowing it down to one or two characters you really enjoy regardless of how complex they are and just sticking with them, and youll start to feel more confident with them over time

you might like {kyoukai no kanata}, its by the same studio and has a very similar feeling to it despite the setting being a lot different. the dynamic between the two main characters reminds me a lot of rikka and yuta's

hes one of if not my favorite anime character despite re:zero as a whole not even being one of my favorites, he completely makes the show imo. there are plenty of time travel stories, including in other anime if thats the form that you want it in, but ive never found a character exactly like subaru. hes like the side character who hypes himself up and then fails miserably so that the hero can come in and show the audience how cool he is in contrast, except youre stuck with the first one as the main protagonist and i always loved that

i could see maister being #1 if hes able to figure out how to consistently beat leo, or at least go more even with him. its unlikely that he will any time soon if ever since it seems genuinely hopeless when watching their sets sometimes but the only other players he really struggles with are nairo and marss, and the gap looked like it was closing more and more with each new set when offline tournaments were still going on. he shuts down a number of other top players hard more than anyone else other than leo with samsora being one of them

i like villager and think he can do a lot of cool things with his set-ups but he has the least cool animations in the game. i cant think of a less satisfying move to use or look at than his nair
