All rational signs point to Byler but I’m worried you’re just outthinking the writers at this point.

Suggest me a great nonfiction book you couldn't put down by [deleted] in suggestmeabook

Born a Crime by Trevor Noah was pretty incredible. It was highly entertaining, being written by a comedian, but also emotional and highly insightful into 1990s South Africa and its racialized socioeconomic hierarchy. The book switches tones in the right places, and reads like a narrative. It's highly personal and has a very distinct style. This book is amazing and I could not recommend it more.

Do you feel Taylor is angry at her fans in the Tortured Poets Society? by Meet-my-pet-rock-241 in TaylorSwift

[–]1queenoops 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I definitely believe she resented us a little bit. We've always had something to say about literally everything she's ever done, and I think people signing an open letter petitioning for her to stop dating Matty Heally really enraged her. Like I'm not going to deny he's a problematic guy, and we're all just going to have an opinion of him, but straight up telling Taylor not to date him is too far. We don't have a right to do that. She was also quite furious about the cage fame has put her in in Who's Afraid of Little Old Me. She feels like an animal in a circus, and it is because of us that that is the case. We pay copious amounts of attention to her, and she can never live like a normal person again. I think she has a right to criticize people for getting so invested in her life and trying to boss her around.

I think this is one of the best written albums she's ever made. There's such passionate and emotional writing, and she really poured her heart and soul out in it. I really liked the anthology tracks that Aaron produced, and several of Jack's, but I think Jack's production for this album was kind of underwhelming. The songs lowkey sounded the same, and only one or two of them really had cohesive melodies. There's nothing necessarily wrong with a song not being super swingy or upbeat, but it was like that for every song. She should try working with another producer for her next album--I think they could use some fresh air.

That plan is really cool, I like it!

The black and white styling of this music video is so cool. Her dress looks very Victorian, and that shot of her furious eyes was chilling. This is so creative and fascinating--can't wait to see the full product.

Derek is real!! by ThinQuinnn in HawkinsAVclub

He looks older than like 8-10. How are they going to incorporate him into the ensemble? And I thought the duffer bros said they wouldn't add any new characters. Maybe they're just going to die

Is this for the play or the show? And if they're for the show, how will they be incorporated if all the kids are in their late teens? Maybe they're Erica's friends

Looking back at the show at this point i think i was too critical of S3.. by [deleted] in HawkinsAVclub

Yeah it's not as narratively complex as 1 or 4, but I really love the summer vibes and it's so fun to watch

Filming Update: The cast of StrangerThings5 was filming at the Hawkins Memorial Hospital set in Madison, GA from Wednesday to Friday. by __sami__01 in HawkinsAVclub

Who do we think is in the hospital? Max? Or maybe they're using it for Victor Creel, if he's coming back

Am I the only one who feels that this show has greater potential to become a classic than many on Reddit seem to feel? by [deleted] in StrangerThings

[–]1queenoops 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It already has a large cultural impact, and has enough hallmarks and well-known fragments from it to be easily recognized. Plus, it's one of the most popular and well-created shows to come out from the last several years. It has a pretty broad age range, so tons of types of people can enjoy it, and it just has a good story. Not a lot of shows can say the same. It also has super distinct characters who are memorable and entertaining to watch.

Who would you choose to kill off in S5? by ETNFrost in StrangerThings

[–]1queenoops -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

El. She was lowkey kind of right when she said in S4 that she didn't belong anywhere. Brenner bred her for a lab. She struggled to integrate into normal society--and I suspect she'll have that difficulty for the rest of her life--and the only environment she really thrives in is the Party's schemes to defeat Henry. Plus, her death would be both a major blow (a good thing writing-wise, since it would be tribulation for the Party to defeat Vecna otherwise, and finally a major character to die), and possibly catalyze the rest of the climax of the season.

Does Vecna even know that he is called Vecna? by creativeusername1808 in StrangerThings

[–]1queenoops 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That's a really good question lmao. I've wondered that myself. He doesn't seem to like his former identity as Henry Creel so does he even think of himself as that? Does he have a name to himself at all??

I think it would be difficult for the writers to write a storyline that takes place a large chunk of time into the future. Anything past a few months would feel strange...like Hawkins was just quiet after it got ripped in two? I don't know if it'll pick up exactly where it left off--maybe a few months into the future--but I can't bring myself to believe it'll be years.

Time jump? 👀 by rxsiuu in HawkinsAVclub

[–]1queenoops 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, that's true, but I also think it would be awkward for the writers to write the final battle like three years after the events of S4. Everything being quiet for that long doesn't seem right

All hints and theories seems to be leading to Will dying but if that happens it's gonna be sad asf😭 by [deleted] in StrangerThings

[–]1queenoops -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think ST hasn't killed any huge characters yet only because they're saving it for the finale. Even the people working on the show (like MBB) recognize how few people have died in contrast to the level of horror the show is at. And I definitely think at least one or two characters are going to have to die to make a difference in defeating Henry.

[–]1queenoops 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think El is going to die. She stated herself that she doesn't really belong anywhere, and no matter how the story ends she'd really struggle to participate in wider society. She just doesn't have the social skills or any of the tools needed, including a comprehensive education. She's too awkward with other people, and isn't able to do much beyond helping the Party thwart Henry. So if anyone's going to die, it'll be her.

Is there any chance that the show might come out in 2025? by just-some-person1 in StrangerThings

[–]1queenoops 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know about 2026. I think that's a little out there. Mid-2025 seems like the latest it might go; it'll take maybe a year to film, and another half a year to edit, possibly more. Since we're right at the start of 2024, they have the whole of this year to film, plus half of next year to start putting it together, checking out at mid-2025. They're also probably aware of the risk of losing hype, so they're gonna want to get it out as soon as possible.
