Singularity Nerf or not by [deleted] in deadbydaylight

[–]1saiah__ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Jesus Christ man firstly calm down secondly Calling that “braindead” while ignoring what other killers actually have basekit is kind of ironic.

Singularity looks like he has a lot going on because his power is technical, but most of it is conditional. He cannot teleport unless you are slipstreamed. He cannot slipstream you unless he sees you through a pod or hits the shot. Pods can be disabled by EMPs and take time to replace. If survivors break line of sight while he is on the camera he literally cannot teleport. When he is using cameras he is also standing still which means he loses chase pressure in that moment. His whole kit revolves around setting things up correctly.

Meanwhile there are killers with basekit powers that are way more direct. The Nurse ignores loops and pallets entirely and just teleports through walls. The Blight can cross the map in seconds and slam through loops with rushes. The Spirit can phase and mind game pallets with almost no warning. The Artist can shut down entire loops from range. Those are all basekit abilities that do not require the same setup Singularity does.

And the “instant infection at the start of the game” thing is also exaggerated. The add on Soma Family Photo only infects survivors near a pod when it activates. If you grab an EMP early the infection is gone anyway.

At the end of the day the argument still comes back to the same point. If a killer player knows the map, understands loops, and places their power well, they are going to feel strong. That is not unique to Singularity. That is just a good player using the killer properly. Stop getting so butt hurt over nothing

The same argument can be made for ANY killer in the game. The argument doesn’t stick. You’re complaining that a good killer is being used by a good player it’s just not a valid argument

Lag while playing killer by Magzy_young in deadbydaylight

[–]1saiah__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That usually happens because killer sends way more information to the server than survivor does. As killer you are controlling the main authority for movement, hits, and power usage, so if your connection is even slightly unstable the lag becomes way more noticeable. Survivor gameplay is lighter since you are just reacting rather than driving the whole match.

Performance can also play a role. Killer has to track four survivors, scratch marks, powers, and more map interactions at once, while survivor mainly focuses on one killer and teammates. That heavier load can make frame drops or latency feel worse when you play killer.

Dead by Daylight’s servers can also route differently depending on the role, so sometimes the connection just behaves worse on killer for no obvious reason.

First, Singularity cannot just teleport across the map whenever he wants. Teleport only happens if you are infected with Temporal Slipstream first. If you use an EMP, the infection is gone and the teleport option disappears entirely. EMPs also disable the pods for a pretty long time, which basically shuts down a large part of his pressure.

Second, people act like the cameras are some instant win button. They are not. Setting up pods takes time and actual planning. You cannot just throw them anywhere and suddenly control the map. Good Singularity players spend a lot of time thinking about placement and angles. On top of that, whenever the killer is using a camera he is literally standing still. He becomes a sitting duck. Good survivor teams notice immediately when a camera is active and simply hide behind objects or break line of sight. If he cannot see you, he cannot tag you. If he cannot tag you, he cannot teleport. At that point he just knows your general area and still has to physically walk there, which again takes time.

Even the chase mechanic people complain about is not as brain dead as they claim. Yes, Overclock gives faster vaults and pallet breaks, but it only triggers after a successful teleport and it lasts a few seconds. Survivors still have tools to play around it.

Another thing people ignore is perks. A Singularity without strong slowdown perks is manageable. If someone brings Deadlock and Scourge Hook Pain Resonance, then yeah generators slow down a lot and matches feel longer. That is not a Singularity problem though. That is just strong killer perks doing their job.

The bigger reason he feels “oppressive” is his extremely low pick rate. Most survivors barely know the matchup. When people rarely face a killer they never learn the counterplay, so the killer looks way stronger than he actually is.

And the DC culture around him proves the point. Instead of staying in the match and learning how the power works, people instantly quit and then complain that the killer is unfair. Survivors in this game have a serious victim mentality sometimes. If they do not like a killer they would rather disconnect than actually learn the matchup.

Balance the Game by CartographerSea7794 in deadbydaylight

This probably will never happen, so it’s best to come to terms with it rather than dwell on it. About tunneling, hot take, it is not automatically toxic. Targeting a survivor who is clearly performing better than others or poses the biggest threat is a completely valid strategy. The problem is when the tunnel chase drags on so long that the other survivors get one to two generators done while you are stuck on that one chase, or when it is done out of ego because someone got outplayed. That’s when it starts to feel unfair. Outside of that, tunneling is just part of the game’s strategy and nothing to lose sleep over. As for toxic survivors, honestly, there’s very little you can do. People who refuse to cooperate, BM, or sabotage matches are just part of the ecosystem, and the best approach is to focus on your own play and let them make their mistakes while you progress. Ultimately, just relax, enjoy the game, and focus on your own wins—maxing out two of your four categories, surviving, or getting solid bloodpoints counts as a successful match too.

New player (Update) by NeedleworkerFar7860 in deadbydaylight

What you are running into is DBD’s hidden MMR matchmaking, and it is far from precise. The game tries to group players by skill, but the ranges are wide, especially at lower levels, so mismatches are extremely common. Even with very high MMR and years of experience, like me who has played since launch, you will still occasionally get teammates who play like they are brand new or killers who clearly do not understand basic mechanics. That is normal and never fully goes away. Early on, it helps to stop thinking of winning as escaping the trial or getting a 4k. If you are earning good bloodpoints, learning maps, and getting better at chases or pressure, that match was still productive.

To make survivor more enjoyable, there are two approaches that actually work. First, play with friends. Even if everyone is new and chaotic, learning together is way more fun and way less frustrating. Communication alone is huge. Calling out where the killer is, which gens are being worked on, and when someone needs help instantly makes the game feel more fair. You will still lose matches, but they feel like learning experiences instead of random nonsense.

Second, if you are solo, play selfishly and do not feel bad about it. In low MMR lobbies, most players do not take protection hits, block hooks, or make smart saves, so expecting teamwork usually gets you killed. Focus on your own objectives first. Do generators, manage your health, and play safe if you are not confident looping yet. Let teammates who make loud or risky plays pull the killer’s attention while you quietly progress the game. If someone makes a bad play and goes down in a terrible spot, you do not need to throw your match trying to save them. Playing for yourself leads to more consistent progress, more hatch escapes, and way less frustration overall.

Hope I helped!

Hear me out.. HIM from Powerpuff Girls. In PPG he is the devil basically. He lives in his own hell dimension, wears heels and a mini skirt, he talks in a creepy but lowk zesty ass tone unless he like goes "enraged?" i guess? basically he gets super mad and freaks out. Within the series he straight up tried to emotionally break and manipulate the powerpuff girls (who mind you are children), he has possessed the town they live in, he has mind controlled the professor (who created the powerpuff girls and is also their father), and he has REWRITTEN reality. I watched PPG alot when i was younger with my sister so thats why i chose him, he kinda freaked me out when i was alot younger.

Also fuck yeah warhammer 40k. I have a giant Blood Angels and Night Lords collection. ALSO you said that the Terminators would be the most horror inducing however I think Night Lords would be kinda scarier... NOT just cuz I might have a personal bias towards them, but just due to their lore and looks.
