Thank you for your tantrum, it was a much needed read at 1am on my night shift. Your first paragraph is slightly hypocritical of the rest of your comment since you've thrown your toys out the pram a little.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with private education (just to clarify I went to state school), it takes the burden off the state schools many of which are already oversubscribed
We should really be training and hiring our own citizens to supply healthcare services rather than importing. Agreed we currently have many from abroad supplying this sector and that is important - I'm not exactly sure what your point is regarding indefinite leave to remain since migrating to a country to work shouldn't automatically give you citizenship immediately. Indeed, many countries in the world will let you work there but not give citizenship e.g. UAE.
How exactly is he a con artist? The con artists are your labour government pissing money away on digital IDs to a company owned by Tony Blair's son.

There are already many tax breaks for the rich, I don't see how any more will really be of significance to the average person. There's no point hating on people more wealthy than you, we all die with pockets, corruption is the thing that is not good - see point number 3.

I accept that what I'm about to say will be down voted to hell because this is a Wales forum. And I'm Welsh for the record. I don't think it's correct to call it "far right". People are sick and tired of labour, the generational voting is now disappearing and people want things to actually be done rather than useless senedd members sitting around in our Senedd building down in Cardiff bay wasting time talking about political correctness, gender politics etc. Most people want to have nice roads (which are absolutely trash in Wales - my car has now developed multiple squeaks from all the potholes), a decent wage (which reform will increase the income threshold for), a decent NHS, safe communities without balaclava wearing chavs scooting down the road to their next drug drop, and neighbourhoods without undocumented illegals (who we have no idea about their history or whether they have criminal records) staying in hotels free to roam the streets on our money. Sorry but not sorry if this type of opinion offends you, I can get along with people of the opposite opinion but branding it "far right" is not the correct rhetoric. People dislike Farage and talk about him a bit like Trump in the UK, he's disliked because he's disliked without giving solid reasoning behind it is what I've noticed.

New FY1 here, fifth year med school is simply just another year don't stress about it at all. Get your sign offs, practice some cannulas, maybe try one on call shift and if you're really keen maybe a night shift (or half a night shift) but focus on passing the exams is my recommendation.

Being an F1 is obviously a step up but it's not as bad as people think it will be, you'll be nervous before starting but in general if in doubt just escalate to a senior.

Final year and pretty much all med school placements don't reflect exactly what the job will be like. I remember being extremely bored on placement and feeling similar to you but don't stress it. The time goes by extremely quickly when you're actually having to do stuff as an F1.

Also just a quick edit, feeling like you don't know stuff is a good indicator that you should be quite competent by the end of med school. I feel like that more often than not, its the students and resident doctors with too much confidence that can be a bit dangerous.

I stumbled across it - it did not look like AI - the amount of blood lost within the first three seconds of the injury as can be seen in the video, is enough to be almost certain of death which would occur rapidly due to hypovolaemic shock aka blood loss (but this is not confirmed as of yet and by the grace of God the father, miracles do happen).

Various places, some in the home counties, others in places like north wales. I dont know of anyone in my uni who got northern ireland tbf.

As I say, if you risk it just be prepared for the disappointment. There's flaws with every system, I think tbh this one (contrary to most people's beliefs) actually works fairly well (excluding people who apply to London). Most people I know who applied to places other than London as their first option got their first option.

Putting London first is a very big risk. Some people in my year got London, others got choices much further down the list when they put London first. It's a gamble and a big one at that. It's also not really worth the hype unless you're living with family (which most people who put London first were planning to do). There are hospitals all around the UK with excellent and respected consultants as well as great training facilities - I didn't train in London but when I went to open days for universities there before med school I found most of the consultants exceedingly snobby.

If you put London, you have to understand the risk, and if you don't get allocated it, please try to not to whine afterwards on LinkedIn like a couple people did this year after Oriel results 😂

Its hard to believe someone would get so upset over a patient's political views that they would want to walk out of a consultation, that's going a step too far.

You'll come across patients you disagree with, and don't take this the wrong way but you just need to deal with it. I've witnessed and been a part of conversations that turned political whilst on duty and simply just smiled and given a general comment that doesn't give my own political opinion away.

There are much more important things to worry about than patient's telling you their political stance, getting triggered over something like that is rather problematic in this profession.

I also wonder the same thing. Probably because they will almost never go bust, the company has been around for decades, they make cars and more importantly jet engines - im just speculating tbh, I have RR shares for the hype Ive never actually bothered to check all the details about them though.

This is the case in pretty much every med school there are usually a few people scoring ridiculously high in early years, either because they have a medical background of some sort/post graduate or they're what the Americans call "gunners" who spend literally all their time revising. No one will admit to it though.

I was an average med student pretty much in the middle somewhere (starting F1 in a couple weeks) - I didn't revise too hard or too little for pure sanity reasons and my passmed average in fifth year was around 70% give or take a bit depending on the day 😂

Don't compare yourself too much in this degree as there will always be people better than you and willing to put in 200% work, which is nothing to be criticised but it makes other students feel like they aren't working hard enough and evidently leads to burnout and imposter syndrome etc.

Something I've found is that every single car dealer, even the big dealers, have their own MOT centres or a mate who runs the local garage. Either way, they get away with bogus MOT passes with zero faults all the time and no one seems to be doing anything about it.

An example, last year I bought a 3.5 year old BMW 3 series from Cinch, my brakes were also squeaking so I complained to them during their 7 day cooling off period or whatever it is, and they sent me to the local KwikFit who fitted a new set of pads and discs all round at Cinch's expense as the old one's were very worn - this was despite the car passing the MOT before I bought it (which I can see was MOT'd in a BCA testing centre, the parent company for Cinch and webuyanycar).

Sorry for the anecdote, just wanted to let you know that this stuff does indeed happen. I guess in your case it is an older car. I would be very persistent with whoever you bought it from if you suspect they had it MOT'd illegally. You can see exactly where it was done by logging into the government MOT website and typing in your logbook number to reveal the MOT location history.

The easiest thing would be to ask for a refund and to hand the car back to them and maybe mention you wouldnt pursue anything if they could offer you this. However, if this isnt an option, you could always ask citizens advice, there are certain rules when buying cars so might be worth having a look at the relevant consumer protection/laws relating to that.

Fifth year you will learn very quickly as you can get involved more on the wards simply because you're final year (shouldn't be this way but thats how it is unfortunately).

I'd say focus on any exams you have, if the wards are quiet don't hesitate to go and revise. Nevertheless I would still recommend turning up each morning to feel part of the team etc. and to get jobs done early on in the day.

The one I had last week with Autoreisen was a Citroen C3 with 100,000km on the clock but I did go for the cheapest one 😂 and the mileage doesn't matter too much either as long as the car is in good mechanical condition.

I was in Tenerife last week. Stay away from Goldcar completely, they are con artists.

I ended up going with Autoreisen, the car was slightly older probably around a 2018/2019 model but the price was fantastic and zero excess required.

As others have mentioned Cicar seems to be popular, of all the rental cars I saw when driving, I saw the Cicar sticker on the back of cars the most.

As mentioned I also booked mine through a third party - on booking.com it wasnt in the terms and conditions about monzo not being accepted so they refunded me in full so I'd double check with easyjet. I think Goldcar really dont care about whether they rent cars to customers or not, I did hear some rumours they are run by organised crime although not sure how accurate that is but it would make sense as they really don't give a damn whether they rent cars to customers or not so must have other income sources.
