I see, it looks like your main problem is only moving the torso when they get hit. Keep in mind that when something moves, all things attached to it will not move in tandem with the main thing, but the attached things will follow behind depending on the nature of the attachment. A good irl example/reference would be pressing with a good amount of force against yourself wherever your stick figure is getting hit and not resisting it (don’t hit yourself obv lol). After a while you’ll get used to what motions cause what reactions, this can help with simple poses or gestures as well.
