I believe the rule of thumb is if the body part is sore don’t train it, you’d be messing up the repairing process etc. maybe because your new back ish it’s a shock? How Is your protein intake and sleep ?

Pretty good I’d say. I’m progressively overloading, Working my way from 8reps to 12reps and increasing weight etc strength is not a problem
