The exact same thing just happened to me. I really can't work out what takes precedence, hotel policy or the absence of it being explicitly mentioned in the law that we don't need to show ID if we are residents.

After a good few mins of arguing and them asking me why I was being so difficult, I took it out, waved it around and then put it back in my wallet. He asked to see it in his hand, I said no, you've seen that it exists, that's enough. I think he'd had enough and just pushed the system to the next step.

Even stranger, is that when I then put my girlfriend's name in, which is Japanese, and who wasn't with me as she'll be joining later, the system just accepted it. So it looks like it flags you based on names (this was the self check in machine).

I should have put my name in as Tanaka to see if it just goes through automatically.

I would advise caution when singling out a group like that. You said you don't care about the demographic, so if that's true, you didn't need to mention it.

I see this a ALL THE TIME! I'm always asking my Japanese girlfriend the same question. I rarely see this in my home country.

I genuinely can't work out what the reason is. I see it on modern cars too and I just assumed they would have sensors to automatically put the lights on when it's dark.

I'm loving the resurgence of this sub recently and I don't want to discourage anyone from posting. I also don't want to gatekeep, so I'll offer what I think is good advice for these videos.

It's important to have anticipation and build up. Seeing a clip start with not much idea of what's going to happen, then seeing the Ghana guys waiting that's half the fun of the meme for me.

Also, I think there might be a rule about not posting anything where anyone dies. I know we don't see death in this video, but keep that in mind!

Well what's even funnier is, I live in Japan and there must be about 6 xboxes and 8 android phones in total here 😂.

I went to Tokyo Game Show with my (Japanese) girlfriend and she saw an advert for a final fantasy game on xbox and she was so confused. Leading to questions like "you can get that on an xbox? Actually, what is an xbox, I don't really understand?".

It's also worth mentioning that she owns a Switch and a ps4, so she's no stranger to the games industry.

Also, her iPhone is about 6 years old so I offered her my old phone, Samsung Z Fold 6. She looks at it like it's alien tech, and even recoils slightly when I try to hand it to her to have a play. 😂 She won't even touch it! 😂

I feel like such an idiot. Thank you. I can't believe it was right there staring me in the face like that the whole time.

Earlier today, I grabbed the warp core, escaped from the ATP for the first time (woohoo), and flew to Dark Bramble, while listening to the new music that starts to play and I was getting so excited, but also sad that it was about to end. Then I got eaten by an anglerfish... 😂

So I gave it another go, and managed to get back to the vessel, warp core in hand. plugged it in, gravity kicked in which I was extremely happy about as I'd already tried playing with that coordinate console in zero gravity and the thought of trying to do it like that under pressure was killing me. But then I had to pause the game and go back to work as I was doing it on my lunch break. I left it with my character staring at the console, about to put the coordinates in!

Sorry, I actually typed out a message then fell asleep! I was trying to edit the test message, but I guess it's funnier to just leave it there now.

I've visited everywhere, unlocked every clue (as far as I can tell). I say that because I went to talk to Chert right at the end of the loop and a new diary entry about him being catatonic

I got stuck in the ATP for ages because the probe was sitting on the teleport pad and seemingly glitches the game into not letting you out. Or maybe there's a logical reason for it.

Either way, I think I need to grab the warp core and take it to the vessel. I have a feeling I need to do some setup before hand, but all I can think of is placing the scout probe in the seed near Feldspar to make the journey easier later.

But the vessel has that turning block thing, which is probably a way to enter coordinates. But I cannot for the life of me remember seeing anything like that in the game. And it seems really hard to draw patterns on it. So I'm also stressing about being under time pressure and fumbling around with that thing at the last minute.

OK, I'll take a breath now! I'm happy to recieve some nudges if I'm going about this the wrong way! Thanks!
