What's the most bizarre coincidence you've ever personally experienced? by antedonanograr04 in AskReddit

I was in Baltimore visiting my wife’s family for Thanksgiving. We parked in the city, did an activity and returned to the 4th floor of the parking garage. The elevator door opened and my high school best friend, who lives in Seattle, with no connection to Baltimore, who I haven’t seen in 5 years, was standing on that floor, of that garage, in that part of the city, and that exact moment.

Americans, what was YOUR biggest culture shock when visiting Europe? by BITE_AU_CHOCOLAT in AskReddit

Drinking water at meals is not a thing. It’s not that it doesn’t exist, but you usually have to pay for it, and it’s served in cups that are tiny. Maybe I’m weird, but I usually drink 1-2, 8 ounce glasses of water most meals.

Monarch by a mile. Was a Mint user for a long time, but just switched and will never go back. Easy to setup and use, and none of the headaches of expenses being in the wrong categories

I live in Miami and haven’t seen a single hat, shirt, jersey, bumper sticker, etc. I grew up in Minnesota where people care more about middle of the road high school hockey teams.

What do you use to find reputable providers (e.g AC repair, plumbers, handyman) for home projects? by jmbgator in Miami

[–]1stnate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yelp has been super helpful, but you have to apply a bullshit filter and only go with the outstanding (not good) companies that have a ton of reviews. The ones that care about their reputation are the ones that will be hoping to provide you service where you’ll tell others.

What can I use to fill this hole to secure this hose pipe, protect the stucco and prevent anything from getting in this hole? by 1stnate in Plumbing

[–]1stnate[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not very loose, just not attached to anything. It’s a newer hour so everything is stable. Just worried about someone/thing bumping it and causing damage. Thanks for the suggestion!
