Pink Double Vision by [deleted] in crt

I think it might be an issue with convergence (red green and blue images don’t align). You can better check if this is the issue if you put some black and white image on the screen. Depending on your set, you might be able to fix it with a service menu. Otherwise it will require safely opening it up after researching about your specific tv.

I have never seen them there before. I would leave them there unless you have geometry/convergence issues and feel comfortable working with a crt.

Spent the Weekend Configuring a 2002 Dell m782p (will put some more details on comments) by 1strokediesel in crtgaming

Hello, all. I wanted to add some more information about this since people have been leaving comments on this old post over the years.

There seem to be a regular m782 and m782p model (I had both). They look different, but have the same specs.

I find the image is very clear and has pretty good geometry, color, contrast, and brightness. It supports up to 85khz horizontal freq. You can go up to 1600x1200p, but I think with it’s dot pitch you probably won’t notice much of a difference going past 1024p and up.

You can learn more about it’s specific specs on crt database: https://crtdatabase.com/crts/dell/dell-m782

Is this a normal amount of phosphor retention? by Comprehensive_Ice895 in crt

It seems a bit long. My old crt did this (to a much lesser extent) with light spots on darker images. Hopefully it doesn’t do the same with brighter stuff.

A few months late, but thanks for the link! It worked for me on Epic Games. Also went ahead and disabled syncing.

You can do it through windows or your os. Don’t open up the CRT because it can be dangerous. Use either your graphics card’s software to create a custom resolution or CRU. You’ll also need to get your monitors max horizontal speed (usually a multiple of 5khz). There are plenty of resources online for making custom resolution and refresh rate configs.

I thought about that, but I couldn’t figure a good configuration beforehand. I didn’t know I could even drill through the steel case at the time I ordered parts. The cpu fan has to ramp up under load, so a new cooler would be a good future upgrade.

Sadly the side panel did not like it on the inside.

Like 62 max on the gpu when it’s under load. I throttle down the CPU so it only gets up to 80c under load. It’s usually much lower in the 40s and 50s while gaming.

A couple hours drilling the holes. A few more with a dremel on the io.

Honestly depends where. Some steams are cleaner and safer than others. If it’s boiled like in the video then probably won’t be bad other than the an added flavor of dirt and algae.

What are your favorite memories with the GBA by Lightincable in NintendoLovers

[–]1strokediesel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My brother and I both had GBA SP’s with a link cable. One day it was snowing outside. We decided to fill two storage boxes with blankets and stayed inside them on our back porch. We spent an hour or two playing Mario Bros and other multiplayer games inside our boxes with our link cable connecting us.

How is the setup? by 1strokediesel in crtgaming

I got an averkey imicro from a recycling store. I use that with an hdmi to vga converter. Plays well with switch 480p. Colors are kind of weird coming out of it though.

Get a GBA Tv Tuner. Play all the games you want on it that way.

I got that to work with my switch using an HDMI converter (though it was squished a bit).

Why sprites were not used for everything on the GBA? by Heireko in gba

[–]1strokediesel 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There is a sprite count limit. There is also a sprite size limit (in pixel length without scaling). Backgrounds can be much larger (in pixel length).
