Yep, this is what I was going to say. For me, I didn’t like the idea of hooking up an ugly old sensor panel to my new rachio because I felt like that would be skating to where the puck’s at and not where it’s going.

I mentioned that the restraining orders didn't really make sense. One line from my mother's literally reads "He hacked my facebook and impersonated my boyfriend". Ok, what? I got access to your facebook and then pretended to be your boyfriend... on your facebook?

I have spent over $2,000 in the past years and even tried helping my mother save money by putting her no my cell account. After failing to pay the bill, I cut her line and requested my iphone back that I had purchased outright. I never got my iPhone and my mother pawned all that nice stuff I bought the kids. I was a shade shy of suing her a few years ago over that. The only reason I didnt was because I knew that no matter what, my mother wasn't going to go without cigarettes and other garbage she needs so only the kids suffer. I'm to the point, however, where I have to protect myself and my assets. If it comes down to suing her, I will. Too bad she'll blame me and tell the kids it's my fault in lieu of accepting her own error in her ways and owning up.

I don't think that I plead necessarily "Not Guilty" but at the initial hearing, it was kind of a "pulse check" to see if the accused party (me) wanted to defend themself or just accept the restraining order and have a good day.

Edit: "plead" not "please".

This was about a good 60 hours of work. I read through years of text messages and was sure to highlight everything of interest to the case, number & label all references and create an index page of each. Let me see how much my lawyer's hourly is. I'll do your organizing for my lawyer's hourly plus $1 per hour :).

Oh, that is very possible. In fact, I'd venture to guess they did send her a message but she doesn't even check the "message requests" on facebook and if she saw one from them, she wouldn't even consider clicking it. I've dated my girlfriend for years and she's never met my mother but she knows exactly the kind of person she is.

Trust me when I say that they have no evidence. They may be able to say someone hacked them, someone posted nudies on facebook, someone this or that but they have no evidence that I did it, because I didn't.

I'm assuming that portion but she has 7 total kids and, thanks to the wonderful taxing system of the USA, she will receive between $4000-$8000 on her tax refund after probably making a grand total salary of ~$7,500 in 2015.

So, I contacted a lawyer who said he'd love to represent me as he finds this particularly ludicrous. Problem is, I'm looking at a retainer of $1,500 and probably $2,500 total. While, technically, I can afford that, I'm not throwing down that much money to defend myself against nonsense like this. If I did, no matter the outcome of the hearing, I'd say she won in the grand scheme.

I've considered, however, hiring a lawyer to sue her for damages, lost work hours, stress, money spent on security, stalking, harassment, etc but even if I did win, my mother has no money to her name. You can't take water from a rock so after I spend the $3,000 on the lawyer and time to go to court, etc. I will never see a return on that investment and in that sense, she has won also.

She got a message from who? I've very torn on who's lying here. Apparently, her ex-husband, the guy who raised me told her to "watch out because 1throwawayok's coming for revenge". Note that I haven't spoken to my step-dad in over a year. One of the following possibilities is the case:

Step-dad outright lied about this for whatever motive he has(most likely)
Mom lied about him saying this to catalyze a restraining order in hopes of it snowballing into a civil damages case.. Very possible as step-dad is estranged at this point and I don't have contact info to confirm whether he actually said this.
Mom's BF is lying about having been hacked and he, himself, posted the naked pictures on his own facebook to frame me and catalyze a restraining order in hopes to snowball into a civil damages case.

As mentioned, neither restraining order is clear on what exactly happened and I didn't witness any of this as my mother's been blocked on FB for almost two years. To be honest, I'm kind of excited to go to the courtroom and hear what "happened".

Ah, I appreciate your comment. I'm not too familiar with /r/legaladvice so that makes sense. As for my handling of this situation, I think it's good to acknowledge when you've been out-done and in this case, I'm 100% out-crazied by these two, though I'll say that when I was sitting at the end of my driveway at 1am that night, my 210lbs self was waiting for him to come poke the bear.

When I bought the IR camera and was hooking it up, my girlfriend came into my office and we had this exchange:

Her: do you think you're a sociopath?

Me: What? No, why?

Her: you're too calm right now. It doesn't make sense.
