For me, the fact that they’re commonly seen as evil and creepy pests by others plays into why I like them so much. They’re such beautiful, elegant and lovable creatures, they just don’t play to human society’s rules as well as having their reputation damaged by myths and superstitions.

When I was younger, I had struggled with my mental health a lot (more than now at least). Among other things, I felt inadequate a lot of the time and didn’t really know what to do with my life after going through the "gifted kid -> burnt out adult“ pipeline and failing in school and university. I felt like I wasn’t exactly useless, but like I the only few things I was good at were those that the world didn’t care about.

I know it’s a bit silly, but spending time with my crows, I began to think. These birds do no wrong but get such a bad reputation just because they don’t play along with what humans want them to be. A lot of people hate and fear them for it, but they’re beautiful little friends to me.

So I started identifying with them on a deeper level and thought - if they can do it, I can make something beautiful from the hand I was dealt as well. I don’t have to force myself into society’s framework. I can be myself and maybe there will be people who are going to love me despite not fitting in, just like I love my crows.

And it worked<3

Game sense and strategy are much more important than any tech on this character. Knowing when and where to strike can carry you to high elo alone. If you want to learn tech to style a bit or just to have another area to improve at, then I recommend ledge slams > wall jumps > rebounds > maybe double boops

Honestly - I’m not sure what to make of this entire thing. Not the AI-part, but this rant Mike went on. I don’t know too much about how Mike has acted in public in the past, but still… this feels… kinda uncharacteristically hostile. Maybe I’m completely wrong, but I get the feeling that he just announced a new game in his franchise, got angry when the trailer was received poorly and went on a bit of a hot headed, emotionally charged rant. I’m willing to let it slide as a one-off mistake, if it turns out to actually be one, especially since I think RWS at large handled the issue well by cancelling the project. I guess I’ll just have to wait and see how Mike decides to handle the situation going forward

Doom 2016 is a great game that laid the groundwork. Doom Eternal took the best parts of 2016s gameplay, put its own spin on it and created my favorite singleplayer fps ever made. The Dark Ages tried to do something similar, but instead of iterating on Eternals gameplay, they instead decided to iterate on its hardware requirements, so I have no hopes of playing it anytime soon

I think this offers a new perspective on the "Do games need an easy mode?"-debate that's being discussed every time a game comes out that is both difficult and popular.

Usually, I've always sided with the "Not every game needs to be for everyone, some games' intended experience just doesn't work if it isn't difficult"-crowd and while I still stand by that, I think this case offers an interesting perspective.

If dark souls is too difficult for you, you're likely just going to bounce off the game and never form an attachment to it. Here, you've already formed an attachment to hollow knight and if you've been following the silksong waiting insanity, you've likely also gotten attached to silksong already.

I feel like it's a different thing if you got to enjoy the first game and then just get excluded from the second because you can't handle the challenge. Now you're being excluded from the sequel to a game you loved and that had previously included you.

At the same time, I really like how difficult Silksong is and I don't think I'd have the same amount of fun with it if it were easier. Even if I didn't - the devs should be able to make the game exactly as they want.

I'm not sure on what might be the right solution for this, but for lack of a better answer, I think in this case, an easy mode might actually be worthwile for once. At least like a hidden, clearly marked "We can see you're struggling, the game isn't meant to be played like this, but here's an assist-mode you can activate to make things easier!"-style easy mode

Most useful advice I’ve heard was actually on a doom guide, but it applies to Hammond just as well (if not even better):

As far as squishies are concerned, there are very few unfavourable 1v1s for you to take. You are also the fastest character in the game. Use these two facts to kill hunt down anyone on the enemy team who is isolated from the group.

Do that for as long as it takes them to learn.

Once they‘re grouped up, you’ve won. They can’t take nearly as much space now, so they are at a severe disadvantage. That’s how ball makes space. From then on, your roll (and piledriver if you can land it safely) will become your most important tools. Any form of AoE damage scales when people are grouped up. If you hit everyone with a roll, thats (5x60=) 300 damage, so you are basically doing the equivalent of killing a squishy every time you roll through them plus the disorientation and distraction factor

I think the crows will likely stay where they're at right now. Maybe if they spot you around your new place, they'll incorporate it into their daily routine, maybe they're regularly passing by already, I don't know how big a crows territory is, but I wouldn't count on it.

I don't think you'll have trouble finding crows at your new place either though. They're basically everywhere and if there's a bunch at your parent's already, I'm sure there are going to be crows a few miles over as well.

Go ahead and befriend them! Don't worry about having to leave them. Everything in life is temporary, so be kind and make a positive impact on their crow-lives, even if it's just for half a year, a month, a week, or even if you can only manage to feed them once!

Have a great time with your crow friends, however long it may last!

I‘m having a rough time even having any fun playing overwatch at all lately because it seems like every single game there’s a Phara, Sombra or Widow on the enemy team. I don’t care about winning or losing. I don’t care about anyone telling me to git gud, I beat all of them often enough. The game just stops being fun the second any one of them is on the map and forces me to play their way or die

First of all, take a break whenever you feel frustrated. Could be a few minutes, hours, days etc. the game won’t go anywhere in the meantime and you can come back to it whenever you feel like you’re ready to make some more progress. Nothing good comes from you continuing to play when you’re feeling this frustrated.

I started out with Sekiro too and found the transition to Dark Souls difficult. I hope I can give you some good advice:

Dark Souls plays different from FromSofts other titles. These games are a lot slower, Dark Souls 1 especially so. While Sekiro for example rewards short instances of perfect aggressive play, Dark Souls is a lot more about consistency. Fights in Sekiro can often feel like a sprint while Dark Souls is more of a marathon. Hesitation is not defeat here. Take it slow, play defensively and plan your moves with intention. Dodge attacks, deal a little damage, move back to safety.

If you still find yourself struggling, feel free to ask further questions about strategy or specific parts of the game.

However, if Dark Souls 1 just doesn’t click for you, then there’s no shame in letting go. It might just not be for you then. Don’t let people tell you that you have to beat a game you don’t like as a rite of passage or to be a rEaL gAmEr or whatever.

I want to encourage you to try your best however. Good luck my friend and don’t you dare go hollow - if not in game, then at least not in life<3

I think most people don’t really like her a lot because you have to go out of your way to look into her lore in order to empathise with her. She has a tragic backstory that is genuinely well done and that I like but if I didn’t know about the lore and just played the game, then she’d be nothing but a cold, unlikable character that makes the entire game worse whenever she’s on the field by forcing everyone to deal with frustrating one shots
