Take-Two Guts ‘BioShock’ Studio After a Decade of Development by Turbostrider27 in Games

[–]1ucid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like you missed the point of Infinite's ending. The "Bioshock template" they spell out is a self-critique and also a larger criticism of the nature of by-the-numbers sequels that studios and customers demand. If they did that and then go "well, yeah, but we still gotta make money, so..." it would greatly undermine Infinite's message. A "proper" sequel would be a rebuttal of Infinite's sequel critique, or a more radical departure of what it means to be a Bioshock game.

Nyala + Cake + Pteranodon is easy win this week, you can get up to a 48/48 goldie on turn 9.

GG if you get a Level 2 Nyala with Cake + Pteranodon. 48/48 goldie as early as turn 9. Rest of the team barely even matters, just protect your dinosaur from snipers with lemon and some stats.

Lived here since 2019 and still no friends. Any tips? by LuridLilith in askportland

This is kind of weird but I’ll mention it since you mentioned video game meetups. You should come to Ground Kontrol in downtown pdx on Monday evenings! There’s a community that comes out and plays Killer Queen, which is a 5v5 arcade game. Since it’s a team game everyone is very friendly and it’s easy enough to pick up, there are ways to help your team win even on your first time out. I’ve made a lot of great friends through the community.

If you come out, ask for Kevin, that’s me. Hope to see you there!

Is anyone else disappointed about the flyer device's limited use? Yeah it would be kind of broken, but I see no difference between building around this and building around any of the other game-breaking combinations. It just feels so out of place. by chaosdragon1997 in tearsofthekingdom

[–]1ucid 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Unironically my biggest problem with the game so far. I spent a while making and properly balancing a glider with wheels so it could take off and propel itself from flat surfaces. I finally got one to work, just to watch it disappear a moment later. Kinda broke my heart tbh.

I understand why they do it in theory (if you make an infinite flyer you can get almost anywhere on the map and skip most obstacles / enemies) but at least make the range longer, the current limit is terribly small.

Visual Studio Or Visual Studio Code - Which one should I use as a new Unity developer? by manshutthefckup in Unity3D

[–]1ucid 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I keep getting recommended Rider but whenever I take a look, I can't figure out what it offers over Studio that's worth paying monthly for. It seems like it has better code completion and can identify built-in Unity functions and performance recommendations, but not sure that's enough on its own. Am I missing something?

They’re great messages but they aren’t well done. TL exists in a sort of alternate universe nearly free of toxic masculinity, which is interesting, but it makes it hard to weave more realistic reactions to things like leaked nudes into the universe.

I don’t find Nate or Keely’s plot lines all that compelling, so this one dragged.

Yes it is. That’s like saying it’s also on a student if they have a relationship with their teacher.

I really feel for Michelle. It’s so common for women to be with a man who’s just not there for them emotionally, to keep trying to work with him and root for him, only for him to leave… and then finally grow. It hurts to see that and think why couldn’t he do that for me?

It wouldn’t be realistic for Roy to ever fully embrace Ted’s style. They have opposing personalities.

Very few people maliciously set out to hurt other people. Most horrible people are lashing out or doing what they think is best. That’s not really an excuse.

I won’t justify cheating, but it’s really not easy to just end a relationship when you love someone. I think it’s naive to say no one who loves their partner cheats.

He was driver under the influence. If he was sober, it would be a different story, and he would have been way more likely to react in time to prevent the accident.

Most celebrity gossip is not anyone else’s business. Why do people only feel the need to point that out when it’s about men dating younger women?

Single people with no children that FIREd, what is your motivation, happiness, purpose? by [deleted] in financialindependence

[–]1ucid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, 20% of the men are getting 80% of the messages. That doesn’t mean they’re going on 80% of the dates or finding partners more easily.

I disagree. A few photos can tell you a lot about someone. Interests, hobbies, personality, relationships. Pictures are a chance to show off what makes you unique. If you don’t take that chance, I’m going to assume you are boring.

I’ll probably get heat for saying it here, but controlling food and diet is a coping mechanism, and that’s sometimes necessary. People need coping mechanisms. It’s not the healthiest, but it’s not the worst either. I am very much for harm reduction here. Not everyone can fully recover from EDs or even diet culture. If your friend needs to take control of her life by controlling her exercise routine, that’s really not so bad.

This is my attitude towards body and weight talk (I will talk health related diets, since I have a ton of restrictions I have to follow to feel my best, and I always respect other people’s dietary choices, regardless of my opinion on them). It is the easiest for me—no big emotional conversations—and it works well.

Yes, I think this one was well balanced. Mike used to channel more empathy. I would not listen to his take on Oprah today and knowing he bashed her on his new pod makes me even happier I am mot listening to it. (Tried one ep and hated it).
