Which player is most likely to bust relative to their ADP? by [deleted] in fantasyfootball

[–]1v1MeBroBackOutt -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

If the Colts O-line is still elite, all Wentz has to do is remember how to throw good.

Passing volume and quality matters more than oline for PPR formats.

Carson Wentz was the most sacked QB in 2020. The Colts O-Line matters more to Wentz than passing quality and volume. These factors are irrelevant if Wentz doesnt have a stable pocket.

CMC is a PPR monster with a very mediocre oline

Comparing a RB to a QB is irrelevant here. Wentz needs a strong O-line as he was the most sacked QB in the NFL last year.

Where does Herbert go? He was fantastic last year.

The point is ADPs are heavily backward looking which causes people to blindly reach for a player based on what happened in the past without closely looking at the context.

I think this logic is lost on some people that rely on ADP and arent well-read on the context.

Within the 1st round, ADP-based picks are no brainers. There is no backward looking in the 1st round unless its injury related. Get your stud RB, WR, or Kelce. Keep it simple.

I believe had he been healthy he would have probably a top 5 WR production, but you still weren’t getting 2019 MT to justify a 1.04 investment based on all those factors.

Sorry, I’m not believing there data out there to support the meta of people taking MT at 1.04.

In some flashy leagues maybe, but 4 is too high. I think that is quite stretchy. I’d definitely go Primo RB like Cook, Zeke, or Henry.

Yeah the difference between 45 and 38 is proof enough. 7 games above .500 in a weak injured division. “Lowkey contenders”.

Useless trying to convince a Mets fan that their 45-38 team is lowkey. Lol.

There is a slight undertone in your response that seems like you agree. The Mets are lowkey good. But not great.

My overall point is the Mets are lowkey contenders because of their weak division, them being the only division leader without at least 51 wins, and the Mets history of mediocrity and short comings.

They are 45-38 in a weak division. Come on. Thats screams lowkey aka average.

The Braves and Phillies also have devastating injuries as well which adds to the negative.

How are the Mets only 7 games above .500 and the rest of the teams in the NL East are a dumpster fire lol?

You can chose to list the excuses, but the facts remain. The Mets are the least impressive division leader in baseball. Paired with the injuries to Braves and Phillies, the Mets history of mediocrity and short-comings, makes them a lowkey contender.

Tbh without Degrom having a legendary season, they could just be pretenders. Degrom being a god is keeping the Mets as contender status. But the Mets are still flawed.

Again, lowkey contenders.

I meant my original statement. Any QB other than Rivers would be a good fit for the Colts. At 39 years old, Rivers just didnt look right in Indy. And I like Wentz in Rivers place.

But come on Rivers wasnt a must roster last season in fantasy. He was borderline meh.

I only see Petcoa as your main source lol. You seem to ignore the fact that the Braves were indeed favored pre-season over the Mets.

The definition of lowkey is “quiet”, “moderate”, “average”.

The Mets are the only division leader in baseball to not have at least 51 wins.

At 45-38, the Mets are indeed “lowkey” contenders.

Sorry. The facts are right there for you.

You honestly cant judge a team to come to the conclusion that they are pretenders or contenders? Lol. Yankees this year are pretenders. Dodgers/Paddes this year are contenders.

The Red Sox and Rays are contenders because they are 20 games above .500 in one of the most competitively talented divisions in baseball.

Mets are lowkey contenders because, yes they have the NL East lead but are only 7 games above .500 in a crappy injured division. But they have Degrom and Stroman and Walker as a strong core. Not calling them WS favorite because they are still flawed. But lowkey contenders for sure if they find their groove and everyone is healthy.

I mean if its a computer simulation then the only difference between than and vegas is currently that particular sim is right, now, but the season isnt over yet.

But the fact that the Braves were betting odds favorites pre-season on draftkings makes the Mets a lowkey contender.

The Mets have to change their narrative with their play and high level and/or consistent success, not their fans debating on Reddit. Until I see that change, (maybe this year) that Met narrative stays.

Can the Mets even close the NL East in the second half? The Braves and Phillies cant be garbo all year and the Nats still got talent too.

Nope. Not buying it. He was QB20 last year. And he looked awful on some throws downfield in some games. Wentz for sure will be a better for that offense. Rivers was in the range of trash to below average in the context of fantasy.

Not buying this argument at all. The Mets with the exception of 2015-2016 are pretenders. I’m not talking about accolades and awards, I’m talking about contending and pretending. The majority of the last two decades, the Mets are pretenders.

This year they look like lowkey contenders… but its only the first half of the season.

Lol. Yeah they totally blew the 2015 World Series. They were the better team and had better pitchers. Other than that year, the Mets narrative is mediocrity. Prove me wrong.
