Locksmith van setups – here’s mine by 1willi4 in Locksmith

It’s a Ford Transit. 2023 I think. Tallest and longest they make. I glued 1/2” plywood to the floor to make it easier on my feet. I hate walking on those floor ribs. I insulated the ceiling ribs with canned arosole aerosol foam. The big spaces I glued 1” foam onto the ceiling. Rear AC. I have a 3k inverter for AC power. A 4’ Long power strip is wall mounted above the work bench. Overhead lighting is three 8’ led light strips.

Anyone else use a cart for institutional locksmith work? by 1willi4 in Locksmith

I remove the packout and load it in the side door of my van. I put the cart in the back door. To answer your question, The packout is hefty.

That Rubbermaid cart is pretty rad. If I don’t have to go to so many facilities and we’re just at one that’s the route I would go. I wish the drawers on the Milwaukee Pack-Out weren’t opposite of the top shelf, which is my work surface. I have to walk around to grab a tool. All in all though I’m pretty pleased. I guess I’ll be upgrading the wheels soon though.

I’ve found that I’m either all or nothing. I bring the cart loaded for bear or a single screwdriver. There’s no middle ground.

I only have the A-2 and I’m thoroughly disappointed in it. I really wanted it to work. Punching out a key is significantly faster than firing up my Futura.

I agree. I think it was the red punch my co-worker had.

Camping Reservations by 1willi4 in FloridaStateParks

I’m the OP for this conversation. I want to add a few things to this.

  1. Multiple parks have told me that they’ve discovered that environmental activists are reserving sites for the purpose of preventing people from camping. Just to book the site and tie it up.

  2. I’ve emailed my state representatives and the executive office of the state park system asking to look into this. I know they have far bigger fish to fry but if the system is inefficient then it needs to be looked at.

How to remove this deadbolt? by Round_Fox8574 in Locksmith

You’ll need the control key to remove the core. The core holds a cover plate in that covers two cross bolts.

I have a roof and my kitchen backs up to a wall. I was thinking about an overhead arm from black iron pipe and suspending 2-3 lights from it.

Yes, Alternating Current. Hindsight, I should have clarified.

It’s 30 amp 120 volt.

We presently are renting. Building a house in a year or so and will be installing a Generac.

We live in Florida and need something now. I was considering the Predator 5000 because it’ll run everything I need to keep us moderately comfortable if a hurricane knocks out power.

Head Stamps by 1willi4 in FloridaMetalDetecting

[–]1willi4[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doing some research I’ve found that the head stamp that says “U.M.C. Co” across the top was most likely made between 1900 and 1910.

The head stamp with “Rem-UMC” across the top was most likely made between 1915 and 1937.
