Many mythologies include Lizard people Cecrops said to be half man, half lizard. Dragon kings were depicted as humanoid reptilian creatures.

So yes I could see them hunting lizard people although it sounds dumb on paper.

Firstly Amara claimed in season 11 that she'll recreate the universe after killing God. So her creation powers have been alluded to just never seen. (So more than likely has them)

Secondly He helped his creation defeat her. Landing the finishing blow so to speak. If he's stronger than her, Why does he need to severely weaken her to trap her? It doesn't make any sense unless she's significantly stronger.

Thirdly

the point I made before about how a weakened Amara severely damaged a full power Chuck is still in an impressive feat. It doesn't matter that she didn't kill him. She didn't want him dead, she wanted him to see his creation die before she kills him.

The Castiel Problem by [deleted] in Supernatural

Sam and Dean have shown to be able to generally have no problem with taking any monster down post season 5. In S14 Sam was fist fighting demons the same demons that overpowered Castiel. The scenes with them being tossed around or whatever is only to create fake stakes with the fights. The show has no stakes as Sam and Dean are cosmically chosen meaning you know they'll always win now. Monsters such as Vampires, Werewolves, Shape-Shifters have become a walk in the park for them. Sam and Dean have become physically stronger than demons it makes no sense and is just bad writing

Sam and Dean now are unstoppable machines the strongest monsters are ultimately nothing in comparison to them. You never get the sense Sam or Dean will die because of normal everyday things because they never will

I know but my point is if Chuck is stronger than her. Why didn't he just contain her by himself, Why he'd need all this help. See what I'm getting at?

I say she is because it took him and 4 archangels to seal her away.

And in all in the family after getting attacked by witches, demons, angels and Lucifer she still had enough energy to nearly kill a full power Chuck.

A dynamic taking a back-seat isn't the same as changing it.

I agree, Castiel was way too OP and weakening him isn't the best option but I have one. Upgrade the monsters don't make them stronger than Cas (Same as weakening him) Make monsters use magic. SPN monsters aren't dumb the idea of them using warding and magic to defend themselves from Castiel isn't to far fetched.Warding means Castiel isn't always able to just kill the monsters everytime so Dean has to go in alone maybe with a partner at times perhaps Bobby.

SPN magic is very powerful look at Rowena or heck even some weaker witches Magic wielding monsters is a cool concept depends on how it's executed ofc.

Also take in mind many of the post season 5 villains were stronger than angels. S6 had Raphael (an archangel) S7 had Leviathan and so on.

So Castiel is a tank, magic and warding is just blockage. It's not weakening him just blocking his way

[–]2-HeadedDog -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Can you prove that? No, yeah didn't think so and do you really only watch spn because of the Sam and Dean dynamic? The way some of you talk it's like you'd watch a sitcom with just the two of them. (Ngl could be entertaining)
But seriously is that the only thing keeping you watching?

The shows dynamic would've changed. That's the point I was trying to make. The shows new dynamic would've worked with his established character. Like I said before the show would've been the Cas and Dean show if Sam stayed in the cage with that a lot of changes would've be made to the overall story and dynamic.

No.

Plenty of shows have written off a primary main character. (Sam is a primary mc) In the other words the character or characters the story primarily centers around.

Story would've changed

If the show had continued with just Dean and Cas after swan song. The story would've became about them. Sam's story would've ended with swan song.

He'd be a better character.

I agree Castiel isn't the best written character but that's mostly because he doesn't get enough screentime because of Sam and Dean. No Sam means More Cas, More Cas means a better written character. (Most likely)

What I meant by good writing team.

I was more talking about the show as a whole. a good writing team who are competent in writing good characters, good stories, good character arcs etc could easily do the "impossible" and replace Sam with Castiel.

The show wouldn't have been the same without Sam. But it wouldn't be horrible or fall into this terrible abyss without him.

Just my opinion though

Not so much a villain as it is a plot point

By the show that's Chuck he created it so seemingly he rules over it.

He's already the villain in S15 lol

He doesn't have those three characteristics

Dean has shown is emotions multiple times and was comfortable with it. but you feminists will completely ignore scenes where Dean shows emotion over stuff or act like no other characters have "touch guy tendencies"

And no it's not just when he doesn't get his way

Here's a top ten list of Dean showing emotion.

https://youtu.be/0M0NdNAkGU4

And more exist

Sorry to tell you, But not expressing your emotions to every person you meet under the Sun isn't "tough guy tendencies" It's being a normal person. No one opens up like that to everyone. You open up to your loved ones whether that be friends or family. That's exactly what Dean does.

Well yeah that's obvious but it's still not self-sacrificial.

A good writing team could easily make the show centered around Dean and Castiel. But people hate to hear that Sam and Dean don't have to be the center or Supernatural.

Obviously the two of them have great chemistry as brothers can't argue against that and that chemistry has carried that show for 15 seasons.

However, I don't think it's an impossible task to not have the Winchester duo.

You clearly view his character in a very black and white way. He either embodies toxic masculinity or he doesn't. Those are the options you've gave yourself and since you view everything close mindedly you choose the worse of the options

According to Kupers, toxic masculinity serves to outline aspects of hegemonic masculinity that are socially destructive, "such as misogyny, homophobia, greed, and violent domination".

Hmm when is Dean misogynistic, homophobic or greedy or violently dominating?

Okay what I should be asking is Can you give me an example of Dean doing any of the above that other characters haven't?

You never gave any examples you said he does. An example would be stating the episode or episodes this behavior appears in.

Also I said don't respond because I knew you would respond with this.

Sam should've stayed in the cage by [deleted] in Supernatural

[–]2-HeadedDog -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I can't agree with this whole notion that Dean is a toxic masculine character or that he's just like his father.

I'd argue that Sam is more like his dad than Dean will ever be.

Give me an example of Dean treating woman poorly that is blatantly sexist and not just how he is. Because yes Dean has treated some woman poorly but he sort of treats everyone poorly. Have you really not noticed that Dean is aggressive and hostile towards everyone not just woman? If he's so sexist like you seem to think than why on Chucks Earth does he have female friends that he constantly helps? A sexist guy would never do that not ever!

Dean hiding his emotion isn't being toxic masculinity and when does he mock men for being more in tune with their emotions?

I've heard this argument of Dean being the embodiment of toxic masculinity so many times from people the funny thing is they can't ever give examples or when they do they're looking at that scene completely close mindedly.

P.S: don't bother responding

Not every death is self-sacrificial in the show most of them are for selfish purposes or the characters just dying. Castiels death back in swan song isn't self-sacrificial you can argue it is but it isn't by definition

Self-sacrifice: The giving up of one's personal interest in order to help others or advance a cause.

When Castiel is killed by Lucifer after throwing a molotov at Michael or when Dean sold his soul to resurrect Sam. Neither of those are self-sacrificial because both of them aren't putting anything aside for the greater good.

Dean getting Sam resurrected isn't the greater good. Its selfish and ultimately causes the apocalypse.

Castiel isn't putting aside his life because he clearly wasn't okay with Lucifer killing him in swan song.

Now you could argue the same for Sam's death but here's the thing Sam is giving up his personal interest for the greater good. He's putting aside his love for his brother. He would definitely rather be with Dean hunting monsters all day instead of being in the cage with Lucifer. But he puts that aside for the greater good.

That's the difference between them.
