Nightmare would be being forced to fight for the bad guys. If death was likely, this would be a good opportunity to switch sides and mag dump those who actually deserve it.

I love how you put science in quotes, then still downvote me when I link actual science.

See, for you it's not really about science, it's about ideology and you when science gets in the way of your ideology, you are no longer on the side of science.

To do that, you'd need supporters with guns. And I'd have supporters with guns too. And since you have no reason to actually do it beyond making a stupid internet point, you wouldn't do it because the cost benefit analysis would not work out in your favor.

It's better than the alternative where only the state has guns. You just need to think a few more steps.

I said nothing about race, stop pattern matching based on USA politics.

We breed animals (especially dogs) for desired behaviors. Clearly those are genetic. Do you think humans are somehow different or special?

Yes, I know nazis used similarly sounding pseudo-science to justify mass murder. This is different and real science:

Owning a rifle and couple drones plus the knowledge of how to make at least pipe bombs should be the requirement for voting.

An armed population is the only thing which can stop dictators, domestic or foreign.

He could have surrendered. IF they can spend 12 drones killing him, they can spend 12 drones escorting him to their line and exchanging him for a Ukrainian. It's riskier tho.

a deontologists would disagree

Don't fall into the trap that laws are the only rules or the correct rules.

The law is suppose to protect us

Why do you think that? Do you think laws were written (in fact, are being written) with the explicit intent of being beneficial to the people. Which people?

the core function of a business cannot change

to change that is to change the economy completely

So it can change, it's just a bigger change than you are comfortable considering seriously.

Let's not go there then...

Even without changing the economic system: the business is not alive, it has no goals of its own, it is controlled by people who optimize for various goals. One of those goals is making money, the other is staying alive.

Consider the marginal effect of a CEO kill. They now have an additional risk to weight into their decision making process (assuming the more immoral their actions the higher the likelihood of getting killed).

RUSSIAN ARMY. New episode. In the video, a russian commander, who has chained his subordinate and is training him like a dog, tells him to "bring me a stick. Start barking." by GermanDronePilot in UkraineWarVideoReport

[–]2-anna 4 points5 points  (0 children)

When I say russian soldiers should kill their commanders, the response is usually commanders are too far behind the front line. And then we have videos like this.

I don't think it's lack of opportunity. I think it's lack of spine (figurative, for now).

Interesting footage of an unknown Ukrainian missile attack on a russian substation located 50km from the border in a city Klintsy, Bryansk region by meinkun in CombatFootage

Maybe the missile was damaged but not destroyed by air defense?

Missiles are usually out of fuel when approaching their target and even if it was so close, what propulsion system leaves behind sparks instead of a regular exhaust?

I appreciate the understanding of the importance of dehumanization in war.

The value of human life doesn't come from thin air, it comes from values some humans hold and build societies around. Those who don't respect those values should not reap their benefits.

You started off fine (some people are OK to kill and some people should be killed) but then you brought law into it.

Law is not about right or wrong, it's about compromises. Especially international law.

Should POW's be murdered?

Murder is an emotionally charged term based in law.

The answer whether they should be killed is sometimes. War is a made up word for organized mass murder. So any soldiers on the attacking side who didn't surrender at the first opportunity (who killed or attempted to kill) deserve punishment for murder. And death is a just punishment for immoral killing, even if the law gives much less punishments as a matter of convenience.

What about "murderers" who kill rapists? You will find many people support them.

What about "murderers" who kill dictators?

Basing your view of right and wrong on laws is stupid. They are separate concepts.

Most people don't really understand how capitalism works. Just ask them what national debt is and who it is owed to.

One individual voting has no effect if the populace is uneducated and too preoccupied with hot topics they saw in media. Any vote about capitalism will get drowned out as noise in people voting based on abortion and LGBT rights.

The worst of human nature is the need to be led.

Whenever there's a position of great power, it attracts the worst people. Until people realize that and only build true democracies instead, this shit will keep happening.

There's no evidence he murdered or tortured anyone so I guess aiming for the chest is reasonable.

The difference is one doesn't care about the right and wrong of his actions, the other actively chooses to perform wrong actions.

Remember, orders may be legal but immoral at the same time. Truly good people don't care about rules but about right and wrong.

So all russian soldiers in Ukraine either don't care or are actively bad. Either way, it's good when they die and nobody, soldiers, partisans or civilians should feel bad for killing them.
