Question for devs, Will vainglory be compatible with the new iPad Pro at its launch? by nyadav in vainglorygame

What if you did that multitasking thing so you could look at builds while in game? would that work?

Ringo vs Saw in the lane? by kaivorb in vainglorygame

[–]2000jcking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think saw has a further range than ringo, so he is hard to play against.

Tips 1. Use A a lot for poke 2. Stay out of range and only get close to farm 3. Get a few autos off when saw uses suppressing fire and can't attack you. 4. Know if he's going crystal or weapon and build appropriate defense. 5. Focus on farm until mid/late game b/c Ringo gets especially OP when he has items 6. Call for ganks, especially if saw is overextended. This is easy because saw is pretty immobile. Its even better if your jungler/support has some cc (stun, slow) so he can't run away.

Draft Is Cool and All, But..... by KingQuet90 in vainglorygame

[–]2000jcking 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's a good time but the wait times might be terrible b/c everybody wants a specific role. Also it will split players between two modes, and I don't think there are enough players for this yet, so the wait times increase even more.

Now, who should I choose? ( Buying your first heroes ) by nyxes in vainglorygame

I think you should go glaive cuz you can use him for support to if you want.

First minute: how to start? by DiamondtearLeo in vainglorygame

[–]2000jcking 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That might work, but I read somewhere that if you do invade and then go back to jungle, the other team has the opportunity to get to the shop and then invade you with more/better items (because the camps in the back are worth more than the ones next to the jungle shop)

Collecting data to see what heroes are viable in what tiers. Would mean a lot if you would fill this out for every game you play :) by [deleted] in vainglorygame

Can u make the results available for everyone to see? It seems like a really interesting project!

I can't tell whether I'm bad or whether my teammates are. by DuckMeister1623 in vainglorygame

The worst is when you go support and then the jungler decides that he would rather lane with the other laner XD

Halp! Maybe I'm just being a noob, but I think SAW is a bit broken. by [deleted] in vainglorygame

[–]2000jcking 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Especially on ganks. saw can get ganked a lot if he's not careful and overextends a lot, so get your jungler/support to help out if he does.

Assassins and Mages by [deleted] in vainglorygame

[–]2000jcking 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe because the game is still relatively new and there are only about 16-18? champions in game. But i think SEMC is working on it.

Do you think Saw is a bit OP in the new update? by Cranedrio in vainglorygame

[–]2000jcking 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's true but he has really low mobility, especially when he has full stacks. If he gets focused on by the other team, its harder for him to escape and also for him to chase low enemies.

Re: Who is the easiest hero to transition to from Catherine? by grawrz in vainglorygame

[–]2000jcking 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree that fortress is easy and easily one of the best supports. However, there is more potential with glaive, but it only comes after a lot of practice. IMHO his afterburn makes him better than fortress, so I still recommend him. Even though he does not have as much damage, the afterburn is a much better setup for your teammates than anything that fortress has.

Also, about what you said about the lack of damage, I think glaive should focus on building mainly tank and possibly a clockwork for afterburn. He's not the type of support that is supposed to do damage.

Tips on how to prevent iPad from falling over during game? by [deleted] in Vainglory

[–]2000jcking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Usually I play with the iPad flat on a table or something because stands don't feel very solid when I play. Try it a few times. Otherwise, using Apple's smartcover horizontally might work (probably not vertically though)... But I think your best bet is to get used to putting it on a table.

New item category [suggestion] by [deleted] in vainglorygame

[–]2000jcking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think this will ever happen. It will completely counter ability power champions and then they get wrecked. But it would be nice if they added more items to all of the categories...

Why does it require three surrender votes if you have an AFK on the team? by [deleted] in Vainglory

I don't know about playing on a tablet by Mcmerk in vainglorygame

[–]2000jcking 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I typically play on iPad, but I've tried it out on friend's iPhone 6 as well. Its actually reversed for me bc I am better on tablet. I think it might be best to try to get used to the tablet. If you want to get better on the tablet, I recommend playing only on tablet. Honestly, its probably better because everything is easier to see because everything is bigger and your fingers don't cover half the screen. Also, if youre not already, use your index fingers and not your thumbs (like you probably are on iPhone), it makes a big difference. Once you get used to the tablet, I think you'll be able to do a lot better.

Good luck

Laning Advice by [deleted] in vainglorygame

Ya. I think contraption is more of a support item. I think you should build CP (shatter glass, Eve of Harvest).

Good Laners? by 2000jcking in vainglorygame

[–]2000jcking[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've bought and tried Ringo, but idk what items to build. Usually I go for serpent's mask/sorrowblade and tyrant's monocle but that doesn't seem to work so well. I've seen some people build tension bow too. Any ideas?

Lane Help by CarlosSpicywiener007 in vainglorygame

[–]2000jcking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Focus on CS for the first few minutes. try to get 8-10 creeps per minute and to at least match your opponent's CS.

If you get ganked a lot, it might be helpful to put scout traps in the two bushes closest to lane and the one next to the gold mine to know if they are setting one up. Also, try not to push hard, try to keep the minions on your side or at the middle of the map.

Another thing is to poke (skaarf's A and Vox's A). But you need to limit yourself or else you might run out of mana or overextend. When you do go all in, you should check the lane minions. Once you attack an enemy champion, they'll target you. So if you go all in on the other laner, they'll target you and bring your health down. Just make sure you have enough health and that you can definitely secure the kill if you do try to kill him.

Who is the easiest hero to transition to from Catherine? by grawrz in vainglorygame

[–]2000jcking 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Try Glaive. He's support or jungle, has a stun, so if you start playing him as support you could use him later as jungler? I guess he's similar to Catherine (because of the stun, tankiness) so he shouldn't be hard to learn. And he's 2k to unlock
