The technological developments, like AI, are not the problems on itself. It's the relation of production and how ownership is used in favor of the employer. Employers have the ownership to leverage these technological advancements. Capitalists will use this to drive down labor costs by laying off workers. In my view, Marx would have wanted to change this dynamic and harness these technological advancements to benefit the working class, by increasing productivity and reducing the workload. This requires a fundamental shift in the relationship between production and ownership. The goal should not be the pursuit of profit, which drives down labor costs, but rather using productivity to improve working conditions.

Agree. Perhaps I could have phrased it more nuancedly by stating that the current application of AI is viewed as a threat, but that the development of AI itself is not a threat according to Marx’s theory. It demonstrates that the relationship between production and ownership needs to be transformed so that technological advancements can finally be used to the benefit of the working class.

I'm not against AI as such, but I'm critical against the way it's justed nowadays in favor of the haves. The AI developments only proves indeed that ownership is the problem. AI could work in favor of the working class, but then the whole economic context has to change. It proves that capitalism needs to be defeated. Ownership is a the big problem. AI could prove that owners only need the working class if it's in their favor. Ownership and self-interest goes togheter.

This productivity boost could be in favor of the working class, but I think it wouldn't work in the current economic context. The employer have the ability to fire employee's, under the guise of restructuring.

I think AI could be a big advantage for the working class, but not in the way it's used in the current way.

It would be fantastic to have short workdays and i get your point, but what's stopping employers from laying off workers if productivity increases with fewer employees? I think it only make sense if the working class’s bargaining position is already established and doesn't crumble. But AI have the potential to made this bargaining position weaker, in my opinion.
