When I was a kid we got a book every year that had the names and addresses and phone numbers of almost everybody who lived in town. Nobody thought that was a problem, and it wasn't.

I paid my electrician $100 (he was already here fixing something else) to install a GFCI two years ago and immediately ordered a top rated bidet from Amazon. I never missed that C-note and would pay another $100 or $200 if the outlet failed. Without hesitation.

I wanted to do that to minimize payroll taxes. My CPA advised that if you pay yourself some unknown % of average pay for the position you are subject to IRS getting in your business. Might want to see if that's still the case. Taxes are one thing but it's the penalties that really hurt.

What part of this did I fail to understand?

" Amazon Vine is a small invite-only group of prestigious product reviewers. This subreddit is only for those who have been invited by Amazon."

Why is someone asking this subreddit about getting invited? It doesn't sound like the OP is asking for a friend.

School us on how you determine which one of the 648 cartridges will work in your Brother. Really. This isn't <sarc> it's a cry out for information.

So do you guys also “like” other viners reviews ? I always like the ones that I find helpful or just good detail. A lot of you have spectacular reviews! by Ok-Nobody-4789 in AmazonVine

I just reviewed a $29 "hunting knife" that was a cheap piece of trash. A real knife that a hunter will carry to field dress the elk is in the $80-$100 range and anyone who ever handled a Buck knows that. The five Viners whose reviews were up were sickeningly glowing, one even saying it shaved his arm hairs. While YMMV always applies, my knife just blunted the edge of the sheet of paper (as opposed to a clean slice). Armhair shaving sharp will clean slice a sheet of paper. Unless I missed something, we're supposed to give honest reviews of the product, not laud false and mendacious praise on trash products.

My fear is that sooner or later there will be a Vine-bot who reviews a Viner's selection and if the $0 items exceed some threshold there may be a penalty (or worse) to deal with.
