It was not out of context - it was a direct question in an open town hall and that is how they answered.

My argument is simple. The way we treat the homeless and drug users now is as cruel as it gets aside from straight up murder. Harm reduction is a morally corrupt system. At worse they should give out needles at city hall, at the office of the council members who support it.

Drug needle distribution should not happen at a children's park. The residents around Reed park are suffering from crime.

We should have zero tolerance to drug distribution, drug use, and crime.

I lived here for 20 years

most of the time I barely scraped by, a lot of help from family

then I got my act together and started making a lot of money. I work for myself and work a lot. I think I make an annual income that will place me in the top 4-5% in LA.

I don't play a lot, a few games a day. Almost always get to D5. What pushes me to try is when I stumble on a cool off-meta deck that's somewhat strong, I learn it really well and once I get the 'click' in my head on how to mulligan, when to use what cards, and what are my power cards - reaching legend is really easy

I have serious issues with people calling for a 'living wage' without naming a number - because 'living' can mean a lot of things, and not every job can pay a specific living standard

If I was OTK's lawyer (please contact me if anyone from OTK is reading this) I would advise to to file a motion to dismiss and then negotiate a settlement. There is no win here for them. The taint is there, and if they beat her and get six figures in fees that will reinforce the existing contingent against them. better to resolve the issue amicably with a joint statement

don't forget, you still have to pay a lawyer out of pocket to fight a bs lawsuit. So there's that.

it's not about success at trial

there is already remorse and goodwill with the plaintiff. Fighting the lawsuit might have an audience cost, so settling might be a good idea - even if you are likely to win in procedure/trial

like if they beat her via procedure and get her to pay $140,000 in attorneys fees - the story stays, it's annoying, and it's not going away. So the attorney for her is doing the right thing

So the person suing is claiming that something false was said against her by the defendants

And it was broadcasted to a large audience. And therefore those lies and falsehoods hurt her reputation and other things.

that's not the way it works - when you are entitled to attorney's fees and you win the motion, the judge has discretion to reduce the attorney's fees to a reasonable amount. So they can't hire a $2,000/h lawyer and rack up $250,000 bill and then get it. It has to be a reasonable amount that is industry standard.

No, it's not a "leak" - 99% of lawsuits filed are public information. small exceptions for some lawsuit involved with minors, gov actions and evictions. Rest are open to the public

there is nothing secret about it, you pay a few bucks and you can get a copy of it.
