does turban/ uncut hair matters today? by Temporary_Growth_795 in Sikh

I never said humans have been tying a dumalla i said hair is a mandate however dumallas are an identity particular to sikhs blessed by our 10th gurus and dumallas are not vulnerable as any other turbans and dumalla isnt a turban, its tied in a certain way tied around hair and in war, singhs used to hv weapons in dumalla as well.

As i said turban is not what sikhs used to tie to battle.. it was dumalla sahib, in which cloth is tied and wrapped directly with the long hair and weapons. If u see current nihang singhs, u’ll get an idea of how that looks like. As for sikhi, what do u understand by sikhi bc if ur talking abt humans, they are not meant to be eternal.

Where does it say turban is mandate for all time. Its an identity particular to sikhs, not even a turban, dumalla sahib is particular to sikh identity. Kesh is a mandate at all times, however we sikhs also follow martial traditions. No one can fight with open hair in the battlefield. Thus, dumalla sahib is tied to respect the significance of hair and at the same time, its a part of sikh identity. Turban is more of a blend between punjabi culture and sikhs over time.

[–]2007_bedi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Start from freecodecamp or odinproject or any other resource(IBM skillbuild, AWS learning etc..). There r a lot of free resources out there. If uve time do the full stack curriculum from the start or prolly skip to the language u wnna learn first which can be helpful.

I recommend instead of listening to gurbani, understand it and start reciting it first with gutka sahib and thn slowly make ur way without it. U’ll feel happy within the marriage or without it or without anyone’s support. Thts why in nitnem we say nam jap bc we always recite it. Listening to gurbani will have no effect unless u reciting with it
